Business & Money
Review:For anyone interested in the world of predictive analytics, this is a great and timely book to start with. It breaks down complicated concepts in a manner that 'dummies' can understand. The science of predictive analytics is never easy to explain to make it easily understandable and comprehensible, but the authors have done a thorough job. A must read for anyone beginning to delve into predictive analytics and computer science at large. Read more
Review:The book is funny and quite helpful - nice material for review purposes. BUT, its merely a supplement to formal statistics study. You must have some working knowledge of the basic concepts.
I recommend BUSINESS STATISTICS (By Ken Black). He explains the concepts quite extensively. This book coupled with the humor of the Cartoon Guide will make Statistics a little but more bearable (especially for non-math majors like me:) Read more
Review:One of my favorite writers regarding history. He researches and then tells the stories that make up the trends of the times. Humans are truly a messy lot tha careen through this passage called life, and I doubt we will ultimately survive as a species. But until then, he makes it interesting, and makes it crystal clear that there is nothing new under the sun. Bad behavior? It's all been done before. Read more
Review:I purchased two copies of this book -- one for our son and his wife, and one for a good friend who is approaching retirement. My husband and I took Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University course at our church and were very impressed with the information, although we wished we had heard it years ago. We're hoping it will be a help to others -- but it will only help if you implement what he suggests. Read more
Review:I have just finished reading "The Money Answer Book" by Dave Ramsey. I absolutely love this book and would recommend it to everyone. Our culture has come to accept the "spend now, pay later" philosophy and that is why millions of people are in dept and living from pay check to pay check. This simple book goes through various steps to help a person in any financial situation get started on the right foot. It also address questions about how to build credit, consolidate accounts, set up a budg... Read more
Review:If you are familiar with the Ramsey family, this goes right along with the rest of their material. If you are not familiar with them, you need to be.
I'd recommend reading "The Total Money Makeover" first, as many of the concepts refered to in "Smart Money Smart Kids" can be found here.
This should be required reading for every American. Read more
Review:I read materials on financial literacy and I found this book to be one of the BEST! It is well written and super focused on BUDGETING --- complete and comprehensive... no fluff ... no filler... IT is also very well complemented with How To INCREASE One's Earnings.
