Review:An absolute page turner. I dreaded having to put it down to have to work or get rest. This book will keep you hungrily reading every word and take you back to a time where chaos and mayhem are hidden under tight smiles and even tighter corsets. The characters are all incredibly imagined, and they will all surprise you. Read more
Review:I am currently writing my own novel about Dracula and therefore have done massive research on Vlad Tepes. Well, having just finished my research, I stumbled upon this book by accident and therefore found it fascinating to read a fiction version of what I had already researched. Personally I think this made the book more enjoyable for me, but coming from a place where I didn't know anything about the Ottoman Empire or Wallachia, I feel that it still would have been fascinating.

Review:Jacob is a demon Enforcer, meaning he polices his species in the same way an Internal Affairs department might police the police. His job is to make sure his fellow demons are not placing humans or any other species in danger. Review:Classic civil war battle novel. The language is fairly poetic and written after the civil war, but I thought it brought the war to life. Review:This book - or fragment of a book - is well written and interesting but doesn't have an ending; only a beginning. Unfortunately you will need to purchase the rest of the series to find out what happens. I find that currently I am unwilling. Read more
Review:I found the story line engaging, but the characters really pulled me into the book. They ring true, and I could imagine myself sitting with them and enjoying being part of the conversation. If you enjoy well written prose and great characters, you should enjoy The Essex Serpent. Read more
Review:Selena Kitt is a very good writer and this trilogy is no exception. What two girls find under Mr. Nolan's Bed leads to their sexual awakening and that, in turn, leads to the unraveling of a tangled web of deception that includes their parents, a priest and a whole area of he Catholic Church. The action center is near Detroit, allowing the use of some real life characters such as Mayor Cobo and others along with an excellent depiction of Hudson's store in its early days. Read more
Review:A good period read. I loved the descriptions of old Hollywood and actors. The ups and downs of being famous seemed to be the real way life is. A crooked road, not a super highway. Laughter and tears in equal parts. Read more
