I read Cara's Twelve on Kindle Unlimited. Although I am not much of a fantasy reader, I'm glad that I gave Cara's Twelve a chance. The story intrigued me and pulled me right in and held me as a willing hostage through the very end. The storyline and the characters were masterfully developed and clearly written. I felt as if I was in the middle of the story. It has a nice mixture of adventure and romance. It is definitely worth the read.

This is a great book.. a lot of suspense, suspicious characters, drama, romance... it had me crying in a few parts but laughing at others... She made me LOVE the characters and care what happened to them!!! Wish I knew little more at the end... kinda wish there was an epilogue in there but still love the book regardless!!! GREAT JOB CHANTEL!!!

Cara's Twelve, by Chantel Seabrook is like the Bachelorette on steroids and has a similar plot to the Selection Series by Kiera Cass, except we are exchanging a guy for a girl, it is set in medieval times as opposed to a dystopian future, and it's not really a lottery process as much as each subordinate kingdom gets a representative. Also, this is quite a bit more graphic in terms of both violence and explicit encounters. This is not a book that is appropriate for teens to read.
Cara's Twelve is about Cara, a girl that suddenly finds herself thrust in to the role of heir to the throne due to her cousin being infertile. Her first job? To tour the 12 kingdoms and choose a husband from one of the twelve men pledged to her. Unfortunately, danger is rife in the air as it seems all around Cara a war is raging. Will she find the man of her dreams and ascend to the throne as Queen or will she be swept away in the strife to come?
I have to say, that for all that I wanted to like this book, I was unfortunately disappointed. I noticed numerous grammatical errors and also felt that the ending was rushed. This could have easily been a multiple book series, but instead it rushed to completion. I also felt that Cara was much too confused for the majority of the book and then in the last 2 seconds, suddenly she knows and then bam, the book ends so abruptly I almost broke my nose on the door slamming shut. Perhaps I enjoy a wrapped up story too much, if the author would go back over this and fix the spelling errors along with adding more length, I think this book would be fantastic, without it, I am only able to give Cara's Twelve 3/5 suitors for a book that left me wanting so much more.

I received this book for free from the publisher through NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.

Liked it more than I thought I would. Well written. "Adult", descriptive sex that's appropriate to the story. Also, there's graphic violence that is also appropriate to the story. So, not a good choice for younger readers. Although.... I doubt that the content is anything that would be something most teenagers haven't already seen/heard/read elsewhere.

An evil queen, a heroic strong willed heroine, and not one but twelve knights in shining armor! Sort of. Twelve consorts actually, all pledged to the future queen, hers to have, rely on, and use at her discretion by her choice. A very interesting variation on the medieval chivalry novel! Racy, insightful, and impossible to put down.

But after reading the summary I wasn't too thrilled but I'm glad I finally gave in a read it! I love multiple love interests but I hate having to narrow it down to one guy! It's fiction, let me live please! This book had romance, action, war, violence, everything!! I loved it and I'm sure y'all will too! Must read!

I am wrecked, major book hangover with this one for me. The feels are real. There is another great review on here, so I'm not going to say much more than this was surprisingly great. I really enjoyed this. I will be reading more of Seabrook's work, loved it.

Quite a roller coaster of emotions. There is eventually a happy ending but there is a lot of sadness, devastation, death and war to get there. Quite possibly a tear jerker at times for those who get caught up with the characters of their stories.

I really enjoyed this story. It was fascinating to learn of this new world created of so many provinces. If you like adventure and romance, this book fits perfectly. However, I just hated the ending. The wrong man clearly won the heroines heart :(

What a freaking story. I am speechless, this book rocks. Its so twisted and good I can't put it down. The house probably went on fire and I would still be glued to the book. Hail to Queen Cara and hail to King Tadhaon! ?

Cara’s Twelve grabbed my attention from the beginning and held it to the end. While the action kept me enthralled, I was most impressed with the character development. I loved the heroes and heroine and hated the villians! Such colorful characters! While none of us would ever find ourselves in a situation like Cara’s, it was still easy to relate to her emotional challenges. Her strength made it easy to cheer her on. This is a well-written story, and I look forward to reading the next one.

From the first line a breathtaking journey. I was captivated the whole way through. The characters were rich and heartbreaking, the storyline was enticing and deep, but quick paced. I thoroughly enjoyed this read and hope to hear more.

I thought this book was pretty good until the"heroine" just gave up her newborn daughter. (Some hero) I'm just not one of those people that can easily accept that. She didn't even seem to care. A few tears and oh well bye baby. Not sure I'll give this author another go. Too many books and authors to go back. Sorry, not a fan .

It was an interesting book but I really hated the ending. The book was slow but it catches your attention. I wasn't as into it as others but towards the end I got more hooked and was disappointed with the ending.

I really enjoyed this book... It was well thought out and I hope there will be a second book! There were a few typing and grammar errors (then and than being used in each other's place the most notable, at least for me) but nothing that kept me from finishing and enjoying the book.

I really enjoyed this book, a great read on Kindle Unlimited. The fantasy world was really detailed, and its screaming for a squeal. Despite the main character being polyamorous, there is a lot about consent and different reasons to love different people. Really enjoyed!

Most of the characters were interesting or could have been but I dont think all the characters were fully developed. I liked the concept but really disliked the ending. Its hard to explain why without spoilers so in am going to leave it there.

Cara's Twelve follows Cara's heart-wrenching journey from normal woman to strong and decisive queen. Reluctant and uncertain Cara is thrust into a world full of lies and schemes that threaten her and the welfare of the whole country.
I was absolutely captivated from the start. This is the sort of story that you can't put down. The vivid and well-developed world separates this story from a great romance to an epic read!

In a story filled with engaging characters and a twist on male female dynamics a wonderful story has emerged. Cara takes the thrust upon her role as heir to the throne and makes it her own using passion, strength, and courage. With more than a few twists and turns I found this book impossible to put down.

stumbled on a recommendation for this one on a colleague's Facebook and thought I'd give it a try - it was a great read, with a strong heroine, gritty medieval elements and a good deal of romance - well written, enjoyable and entertaining - will look for the next book from this author

This book is interesting, worth reading. It's not your average live story. Good characters. It's not a book you'll read twice but you have to at least check it out. Be warned there are a lot of hookups through out the book.

I really enjoyed the freshness and exciting twists this story offered. I felt my heart shift with each decision that cara had to make. This was well written for a standalone novel.

Loved it. Highly recommended
