Very different than previous books by this author. Did not even read the excerpt for the next book. Every book always has an unplanned pregnancy and other similarities... But this story was horrible!

I was actually surprised by all the 5 star reviews. I have loved ALL Lani Lynn Vale's books, but this one I haven't even finished. I am not invested at all in the characters, took forever to get an actual story, and the touch of religion turned me off big time.

Personally did not appreciate all the F words particularly from the women. Story line okay but will not be buying any more. Bought what I did to see each team member's story, but soon realized it was basically same plot repeated over and over.
Bad Apple (The Uncertain Saints MC Book 4) :: Put Out (Kilgore Fire Book 5) :: Boomtown (Freebirds Book 1) :: The Hail You Say (Hail Raisers Book 5) :: Dirty Mother (The Uncertain Saints MC Book 5)

Review from Abibliophobia Anonymous Book Reviews

This is another great read in this series. Lani Lynn Vale has become one of my must read authors! Trust me, you want to read these books.

Nico Pena met Georgia when she was 13 and he was 18. She is his sister's best friend. He fell in love with her when she was 16, but she was too young. But once she turned 18, things heated up.

Nico was a Navy Seal, and now he is a member of the Swat team. This story starts right after the first book ended and he shot, and killed, Anita.

Georgia Valentine also loved Nico and was excited he felt the same way. They were supposed to go out, but tragedy struck and almost took her life. She's been gone 8 years and now she's back. Things get very heated between them.

"We fight. We yell. You throw s*** and I glare at you. That's just how we are. We don't have the type of relationship where it's all hearts and god******* flowers. We have the type of relationship that's real. We fight hard, and make up harder. And you need to get over your f****** snit, because I'm so f****** hot for you that I might not be nice when you really need it."

Like with the other books, I loved the quotes at the start of each chapter.

"Jingle Bells, Twilight smells, Edward ran away. Jacob cries, Bella dies, Harry Potter all the way. Hey!"

Nico and Georgia..... I have no idea what to say.... Double Tap was out of this world.... I loved the love, the chemistry -- Not just the sexual either -- their humor, their love, their take no s*** from anyone, even each other, attitudes was just phenomenal!!

Lani is an author that gets better with time, this is her third series now I think, or maybe fourth? Can’t remember, but I’ve read them all, and to see her growth in writing and character development but still keep everything that makes her stand out, is fascinating and awe-inspiring!

Nico and Georgia are all about second chances in love and life, their love is so strong that they waited for each other, Nico waited for Georgia to come to turns with her past and life and finally come home. Georgia waited for Nico for everything, through the good, the bad, and the ugly. I cried so much in this book for so many reasons, tragedy, happiness, love.

If you read only one book this month this is the book to get! It will keep you on the edge of your seat the entire time! The plot and characters were as strong as ever!! And can I just say that even if you don’t like the book, keep going! The last 15% is my absolute favorite, I laughed hysterically the whole time and no matter what you think of this book you will too! Especially if your a mom ;)

From the first moment that Nico seen Georgia he was captured by her and knew that she was it for him. Georgia was also intrigued by Nico from her first glimpse and knew even at a young age that he would always hold her heart. Unfortunately after a devastating incident Georgia leaves without a trace and Nico eventually finds her but realizes that she's not in a place yet for them to come together. After years of being away Georgia comes home and Nico is not sure that she will love the man that he has become. What I loved most about this book is they both took time to grow and become the people they were meant to be regardless of demons in both their past. When the work that Nico does starts to overlap in their relationship we're not sure if this couple will stand up and prove that they have the staying power. The story was wonderfully told and I loved how we got flashbacks of the times when they were around each other and the conversations they shared when they were younger. The chemistry between them was sizzling and when they finally came together it was magical and special for both. This story for me told of a couple who was meant to be and the obstacles that they faced but as the saying goes ALL IS FAIR IN LOVE.

Soulmates for 13 years.

Apart for 8 years.

Many demons, nightmares, and individual struggles that make it seem like it will never be the right time.

This and more is what Nico and Georgia face when their lives bring them back together. They’ve never been far from each other’s minds during those years apart, and the bond that they share easily solidifies once again and makes it impossible for them not to give into the connection that has always been there.

Nico is my kind of hero. He’s honorable and brave, willing to fight for what he wants, and he most definitely wants Georgia. Georgia’s always been it for him, but their age difference was an issue before and their need to heal from their personal wounds furthered their separation, but now that Georgia’s back in Nico’s life, he’s not letting her go and he’ll do whatever it takes to abate her fears, ease her pain, and finally claim the woman he loves.

Georgia has endured way more than a woman should, but she’s done so for her brothers and for herself. She’s incredibly strong and independent, ensuring that she doesn’t have to rely on anyone else but herself. The scars of her past are ever present but Georgia does what it takes to move forward every day and live, even if it’s merely to survive. But Georgia desperately wants to do more than survive, and she knows she can do that with Nico. They can heal each other…be whole again as it should be…they just have to be willing to take the risk and accept the present versions of who each other is – scars and all.

Double Tap was my first read by Lani Lynn Vale, but it won’t be my last. I understand the pull of readers to Vale’s storylines because she creates alpha male heroes who, at their core, are created to protect and love the women who are created for them. Vale’s heroines are strong despite the hardships they faced, and they fight despite their overwhelming pain. The connection created between Nico and Georgia illustrates the deep love between them despite the separation and proves that love can conquer all as long as those involved do the work to make it so.

I can’t wait to read more of Vale’s heroes and heroines!

I am continuously impressed with Lani's books, and this one is no exception. There were aspects to this book that I found to be truly unique (no I'm not telling it would defeat the purpose of you reading the book). I loved Nico in the last book, and was eagerly awaiting this one. It did NOT disappoint! This was a story of two people who found love while very young, then tragedy strikes, and they are separated for years until Georgia returns to town. Unlike in most young loves pulled apart tragically, neither one of them was out sowing their wild oats, and so jealousy wasn't a factor in this book. Their story picks up where they left off after being apart for 8yrs. While I loved this book, I would have liked to see a bit more info about what happened while they were separated. As with all of Lani's books, this book is a love story, but it's got it's own brand of drama, and at points it was truly heartbreaking. I love that most of Lani's books are about civil servants and their dedication to their communities, regardless of the danger to their own lives and relationships. I'm a fan for life, but I'm thrilled that her writing hasn't gotten lazy and that with each new book I feel like I'm reading about new characters as well as the old, although this book didn't have as many appearances of past characters as previous books did. Again thank you for another wonderful book Lani! I can't wait to see what you come up with next!!!

Double Tap is another incredibly wild, action-packed ride from Lani Lynn Vale. From the very first paragraph, the reader is sucked into the story - feeling as if you are a part of the story rather than just a bystander reading. My heart was absolutely broken for what happened to Georgia and I was so incredibly happy that she found her happily ever after. Nico is probably one of my very favorite alpha hero's ever - from his quiet strength to his devotion to his family and the love of his life to his unwavering commitment to his job. I have been a fan of Ms. Vale's from the very first book that I have read of hers, but this may be my favorite book of hers ever and one of the best books that I have read this year. I highly recommend this book for anyone that enjoys a fast-paced, action packed thrill ride with an incredible love story and a happily ever after.

Woah. I freakin’ loved this book hard. After reading Center Mass, I could not wait for Double Tap and as soon as I saw the sign up form, I was all up in there like a cat in heat. OMG – It was awesome!!

The main MC’s Nico & Georgia were just so relatable you know? Like what Georgia had to go through when she was younger and not having Nico there to support her whilst she was going through such a hard time was just so sad. Yet Nico was just doing the honorable thing – waiting till she was old enough to claim her as his own all whilst serving in the Military.

Holy heck, I got half way through the book right up until a pivotal scene and my iPad died… seriously, I don’t think I have ever moved so fast to put it on charge – by now I am full on ugly crying, messaging Lani Lynn Vale asking her why! Why must she hurt my heart like this… :( and you know what, she just laughs at me! Hahaha!

I absolutely love the whole falls for older brother’s best friend story lines so this one did not disappoint. I am excited to read the rest of the KPD swat series.

I love this freaking series! And I really liked Nico's story!
the religion in the book didn't bother me like another reviewer quoted, because it was
brief and what I expected of Nico and his family.
but the pregnancy bit was a bit too much, is this a theme that will be in every book?
also about 3/4 of the way in the story, i started to get extremely pissed and almost stopped reading,
but glad i didn't.
also the POV of each person tends to not be my thing, but overall, wasn't bad and most of the convos
kept me laughing.
read the excerpt for Downy's story, and not you got me hooked and I'm wanting to read the next one!
I feel sad when it ended, because i still wanted to keep reading.
this series is a keeper to be re-read over and over!

Just like Lani's other stories this one is amazing. I have no words on how wonderful this story really is. Holy smokes I finished this in 1 day, 1 day only WOW. I'm amazed at that. The characters are strong no matter what they face and even stronger by the end of the story. It's worth every page turn and every word on the pages, The cover to cover read is almost a must and by the time you reach the end you can't wait to jump into the next one.MUST READ over and over again, the hole series and then her other stories are to die for amazing. It's worth 5 stars and then some.

Loved this story. I could not read it fast enough. So much more than I expected.

Nico has had feelings for Georgia since he was 17 and she was 13. Being the good guy he waited until she was 18 to act on them feelings. Sadly things don't go to plan and they are separated. Eight years later when they meet up the attraction is still there.

Have I mentioned that Nico is a SWAT Officer?? Darn how could I forget that. He's so hot. Love both main characters. The secondary characters are brilliant and addictive much to the story.

I cannot praise this author highly enough. Need to read more of her BOOKS. Loved it.

I absolutely loved this story. It was so cute and sweet. I laughed, I cried, and I smiled throughout this whole book. Wonderful job on Nico and Georgia. I love Nico's whole family and I hope we get to see them again! Not to mention Georgia's brother sound pretty hot! While Nico and Georgia's relationship may be a bit easy there are so many factors and so many side issues going on that of course they not only effect their relationship, but add so much to their story. I didn't expect the story line to connect back to the first book so much, but once I realized my mind started trying to guess and put puzzle pieces together. I look forward to more from the ever so sexy KPD SWAT men. One thing is for sure Lani Lynn Vale knows how to write a sexy man!

I started with book 1 of this series and purchased all of the books published. I have enjoyed the series, but it should be read in order. The story is interesting and the couple is cute. My only problem with the series is the editing of the grammar and spelling. Sometimes, it's not good and can be jarring to the story. Otherwise, I am enjoying ths.

Georgia Brianne Valentine works on her family cattle ranch and her father is abusive. Nicholas (Nico) Guliani Pena is her best friends brother and he has wanted Georgia for a long time but she was underage. He went into the Navy and when he was on leave they shared a kiss together.

Then, Georgia's world fell completely apart - she returns 8 years later.

I absolutely adore Nico - he is the right mix of bad@** and sweet romantic guy all rolled into one.

Now we have drama here and you are going to feel for Georgia and all the events in her life that have caused her heartache at one point or another. How can someone go through so much and still survive?

Finding true love at 13 and never letting go of it.

I enjoyed this book. Second chance love story. They never forgot there love for each other over eight years of healing. I loved this story because their love story is just that love.

The drama in this story was started in the previous book. It was mixed into the story wonderfully.

Enjoyed the read.
