This is one beautiful story. I feel really fortunate to have been apart of the beta reading team and seeing first hand how each chapter unfolded from beginning to end was quite refreshing. Bryce is a hockey player who works hard to support his entire family. Bryce is sweet, caring with a lot of love to give. Dakota lost both his parents but he grew up on the orchard with Tommy who he loved as a father. When these two strangers hook up one afternoon it soon becomes clear afterwards how entwined their lives really are. Absolutely love Bryce and Dakota's family and friends, they add some extra zing to the storyline. Readers definitely won't be left unsatisfied after reading this sweet love story. "I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book."

I actually tried reading this when it first came out but no dice. Couldn’t make it past chapter 1 and I don’t even know why. So I was a little skeptical that this second try would yield better results.

So I’m honestly quite surprised that I enjoyed it up until the 80% mark. I don’t even know why it just stopped being enjoyable then. I think it just felt a little dreary and long.

And also like the characters were a little inconsistent. One moment they’re hiding the relationship and the next they’re flaunting it. And the other person who wanted the world to know is suddenly upset that the world knows. It kind of gave me a whiplash. Or I interpreted it wrong? I don’t know...

Editing needs some work. But otherwise, very well written.

This book was absolutely amazing! I fell in love with Bryce and Dakota!
Bryce is a professional hockey player who inherites a house and an orchard in Colorado. When he goes there to deal with it and help move his mom in he meets a sexy biker who helps him out...In more ways then one!
Dakota lives and works on the orchard and has his whole life. It was supposed to be his but because of a lost will some city boy gets his home!
What follows is a journey of discovering just who they are and what happens when you open yourself to life and love.
This was a fantastic read and I can't wait for the next book in the series!

This is a beautiful love story between two very lovable men, Bryce and Dakota.
I was hooked from the first page to the last. The characters are well defined and compliment each other. Other characters were also well rounded and gave the book a fun outlook on the lovers situation.
I was rooting for the two men and couldn't put the book down. Following their story kept me riveted to everything happening in their lives.
A E Wasp first book in the series is well written and I'm looking forward to book 2.
I received an ARC book and give a voluntary review.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book for my honest opinions of which I am under no obligation to do so. Amy is in my top ten of favourite authors, I loved the storyline how both Bryce and Dakota each had their own discoveries to make, their friends and family were loveable characters and even the animals. It's a heartwarming story, evocative writing thrillingly captures the power of physical attraction, sweet endearing characters made me sweat, sigh and swoon. I can't wait for the next in this series. I can honestly say I recommend this book. ❤️❤️

Awww. This is a great romance. Bryce and Dakota are wonderful together. Bryce falls into a gentle giant category of hero who has been clueless about his own sexual orientation though many around him have not. He is kind and so hardworking.

Dakota is younger and has had one fairly abusive relationship in the past but he is also kind.

The meet up of theses too and their circumstances are a bit over the top but they talk about it like grown ups which is nice. The sex is hot but so is the communication.

The issues with coming out in sports are well done. The cast and setting are great.

The villain is a bit flat and uncomplicated but overall this is a really lovely book and I am hooked on this author now.

A well written and explosive story about unexpected love and unusual matchings. Big League Hockey Player Bryce Lowery and farmer Dakota Ryan live in two different worlds and in different parts of the country. Their chance meeting gives a new definition to Destiny and A.E. Wasp tells this story in such an amazing way. This was a story I was so into that I didn't want it to end. But it does end and of course it's a happy ending and everybody whose important gets what they want. I highly recommend it. It's exciting, funny and amazingly erotic.

I went into this book because it was hockey, however to my disappointment hockey was just in the background, the great thing was it was in the background. This allowed for the love story to develop and the story to unfold beautifully. The MCs were believable and relatable. At one point I was thinking it has been only two weeks the events seemed longer the romance did not come across as instant even though it was. The other characters played their parts and it was the best accompaniment. I was excited to read book two is coming soon.

So many sports romances equate big men and muscles with toxic masculinity and alpha attitudes. Bryce isn't like that at all. He sucks at driving, can't change a tire, and wants to name all the farm animals. Basically, he's adorable and you'll fall in love with him just like Dakota. This book focused a lot on personal development and familial bonds. The cast of characters were all very loving and accepting and were a pleasure to read. It was sexy, sweet, and low angst, so if you're looking for a fun summer read, look no further.

I keep reading works from this author, I like her characters and the stories are ok if you can just take them as they are, stories. I think, for me, it's her writing style. The characters thoughts are wishy-washy, actions are sometimes startling and the reader has to spend too much time figuring out what's going through the characters head, when just a simple sentence would have been a nice segue. The amount of editing errors continues to be bothersome. These things take me out of the story and I end up just wishing the book was over. I want to enjoy her stories, I do, because I usually enjoy the main characters, but it's tiring getting yanked out of their story by the other issues.

This was a sweet romance..

I really enjoyed this book. It was low on angst and drama and just what I needed for a relaxing day of reading.

Bryce is just a big old naïve teddy bear. I wanted to cuddle up to this big guy. For a man to have such an intimidating exterior he was quite vulnerable with one of the biggest hearts. All he ever wanted to do was play hockey and take care of his family. But lately he's grown a bit wore down with all the injuries and time away from his family and is considering retirement. But he worries about taking care of his family. He has his own dreams of finding someone to love and have a family with, but he's never had a relationship with a woman to where he felt completely connected to or sexually fulfilled. His ex-wife accused him of being gay in a heated argument. It seems everyone around him thinks he is gay but him. But that all changes when he blows a tire and he finds himself in the care of Dakota.

Dakota has lost just about everyone he had ever cared for. And now he's about to lose his home and farm to a distant nephew of the man who took him in and was like family to him. Before Tom passed he promised Dakota he had drawn up another will making Dakota the benefactor of all his possessions, including the farm and all his land. But the will couldn't be found so everything was being given to this distant nephew. Out on a bike ride trying to clear his head Dakota finds himself on the side of road with a huge man that looks so damn handsome and vulnerable. He is especially attracted to all those muscles and finds the man endearing when he admits he doesn't know how to change the tire. Dakota thinks he's getting a "gay vibe" from Bryson and curiously starts flirting with him. Bryson takes the bait and soon things get heated with a little B&E thrown in.

The book is strongly about family, love, acceptance, being true to yourself, falling in love, and finding your HEA.

I adored many of the characters in this book and the animals. I loved Bryce and Dakota together and how well they took care of one another even if the other was upset with the other. They truly cared about each other. It showed in every touch and kiss. They were quite adorable and very bad at hiding their feeling's.

I can't wait to see what happens in the future books!

If your in the mood for something fun, easy, sweet, with some great characters then pick this one up.

Happy reading dolls! xx

I absolutely. Friggin. Loved. This! Bryce has lived for hockey since he was 14. Now at 34 he's been injured, and faces decisions about his career. He's also questioning his sexuality, having been told by others for years, including his ex-wife, that he's gay. But introspection is not his strong suit. When Dakota stops to help the hapless man with a tire, sparks fly and Dakota helps Bryce confirm that he is indeed, gay as a Pride parade. Dakota has known nothing but loss all his life. All the family he had is gone and the will, leaving him the property he's lived and worked on for so long, is lost. Imagine his surprise when he finds out Bryce's mother has inherited it.

It's a rather rocky road to romance (yes I'm fond of alliteration) but the physical pull between them is strong. Both also feel the emotional pull but Dakota's afraid to trust, Bryce isn't out and hasn't decided on continuing his career or not. The characterization is wonderful and enhanced with alternating POV's. I wouldn't really call this May/December, as the age difference is only 10 years. More than that, I loved the way they really talked about most things. They did hold back, especially Dakota, but it wasn't a miscommunication trope. They're helped along by wonderful secondary characters, like Dakota's sister Lori, Bryce's ex, Nikki and his mother Connie.

There's not really any hockey, other than a game they attend but the flavor is there. The sex scenes are intense and scorching, plentiful but not overwhelming and not filler. It's an utterly delightful, low-angst story, not overly sweet, with an upbeat plot line and uplifting ending. I cannot wait to read the next in this series.

*I received an ARC from the author. A review was requested but not required*

What a great book. These two guys were hot, hot, hot right off the bat. They had great chemistry together. I loved there short journey in falling in love and the scariness of it for both men. They weren't expecting to find someone much less fall in love, especially for Bryce who never thought he was gay. They meet under weird circumstances, but it was fate. They have some obstacles, but they come through with flying colors. Another goal for A E Wasp.

Bryce is a swoon on worthy aging hockey player, I'm a sucker for a hot hockey player... Dakota is a farm boy, who's never left the farm. Bryce seems to be out of his element, any time he's off the ice. Bumps into Dakota, who saves the hot city guy cause he can't drive or change a tire. But fate has more in store for these two then a chance meeting. Dakota explores the option of having someone who belongs to him, and Bryce expores the attraction to a man. then boom, the kiss cam throws everything into chaos.... A strong family core keeps the story moving along and gives the pair no choice but to face off.

Positively loved this story. Loved the characters, both family and friends and loved to hate the villains. Bryce and his coming out, Dakota and his being the partner was incredible. The story was so warm and fun to read. The characters were believable and charming. The entire story left me smiling and felling happy with the ending. A definite 5 star, in my opinion. I voluntarily reviewed an arc of this book.

I really loved this story.

Honestly, the only thing that truly bothered me, although it's not truly a complaint, is that I SO wanted a detailed scene of Dakota bottoming, because the book kinda built it up, him imagining it several times and them talking about it, but - can't have everything, and ultimately it's not a huge deal, just a personal thing.

But aside from that, this was very good. The sex was amazingly hot and scorching and passionate, and Dakota and Bryce were special together. I loved how even though these two become sexual with each other almost right away, it did not feel forced, because romance was not pushed right away. It was what it was at first - a hook up. But what brings them together again is, in my opinion, well done, and their chemistry was off the charts.

I feel like the amount of time it took them to fall in love could be considered a little rushed, but they were so good together and I was able to feel their passion for each other come off the page so much that I didn't think it was rushed.

I also never got that feeling that I've gotten with other books that deal with a character just realizing they aren't straight, and are completely new with it with this one. Bryce wasn't pushed into coming out after only knowing for only a few weeks that he is gay. There were times were Dakota came close to it, but he understood when to back off and let Bryce have some time. I thought Bryce came to terms with his sexuality pretty quickly actually, but it didn't feel disingenuous or anything like that. It was actually refreshing to read about someone just realizing they're gay in their 30's coming to terms with it fairly easily - not that there wasn't angst with it, but just that Bryce came to terms with himself fairly easily - having a wonderful, accepting family helped with that, too.

I also enjoyed how these two worked out their problems - they did not always get it right, but they both talked things out eventually, got everything out on the table and I loved that. Not miscommunication trope to be found in this.

Also, what could have become cliche and contrived with Dakota's ex didn't, and the guy was only around like twice, and he was easily dealt with, and that was refreshing too.

I definitely recommend this, because the story, the chemistry, the characters are just too good, in my opinion, to pass up. Loved this! :)

This is a beautiful story about family, love and discovering who you really are. I love the storyline, it really engaged me right from the beginning and I could not put this book down. I fell in love with Dakota and Bryce and loved watching their relationship develop. Bryce's family is great and so supportive. I really like Lori, Dakota's sister, she's awesome! This was my first book by AE Wasp but it definitely won't be my last! I can't wait for more.

Dakota and Bryce are incredible together. Both are amazing loving characters with an awesome supporting cast of characters. Bryce really is so sweet, innocent in so many ways...a heart of pure gold. Dakota really one the Jack pot of the best man in the world... I found this book to be very funny as well and there is nothing better than a romantic comedy that still touches your other deeper emotions..

A.E. Wasp has written a beautiful, sweet, grab you by the heart and make you go "Awww" tale. It's the captivating story of Bryce and Dakota, two men who seem to have nothing in common, but turn out to be everything the other has needed to get a HEA ending. Fantastic start to a new series, and I can't wait to see what happens next.

I loved this instalust, first-time gay story of two sweet big men. It was funny, full of very deep felt feelings, family love and acceptance. The angst was almost non existing and solved pretty quickly, because our two heroes already loved each other. I laughed, cried and at the end it left me with a happy mood.

Another A. E. Wasp success! This new series is off to a great start. I fell in love with Bryce and Dakota from the start. Their "families" were so down to earth and I felt like I was part of the choas! I can't wait until August for the next book! I'm hoping we will see where Bryce and Dakota are in their lives while reading about Robbie! I was sent an advance ARC copy.

This is a well written and enjoyable novel. It is an emotional read, with lots of heart-string pulling moments. The one thing I can't figure out is why the copy editing went to pot in the last third of the book...

The premise and storyline was very good. I really enjoyed the characters and the author did a really good job developing without over doing the whole story.
However it needs to go back to an editor. There were so many places that needed an added "s" or even the correct transition. Also Lu was a boy and then a girl and back and forth for 50% of this book. I'm really still not sure if she was a he or he was a she.
Overall well written but not well edited.

This is the story of ice hockey player Bryce Lowery who, while injured has to help his mother move house. While on the road his car has a blow out and Dakota comes to his rescue. Dakota is upset as his grandfather had died without leaving a will. His farm home is now going to go to someone else and he will soon be homeless. There is a huge spark of attraction. The only problem being that Bryce is not gay or so he thought.
When Dakota arrives at his lawyer’s office the next day he is shocked to find Bryce is that someone who has inherited the farm.
This is a very good story, well told and has lots of events occurring throughout to keep the reader enthralled.
I was given an ARC but it was spoiled by a huge number of typos. I think there may be a fresh version on the way.
