My almost 8 year old daughter wanted to read books about becoming a "older girl" way too soon. The books I found, including the book from american girl "the care and keeping of you" was too advanced for her. Was I ever glad I found this book! We bought this book, the smart girls guide to manners, and beauty 101. These book DO NOT cover periods, bras boys etc but are written for the 7-10 year old girl. Perfect for my daughters age. THANK YOU AMERICAN GIRL!! You've included the girls in the "younger" set without giving them too much information for them to handle. This book deserves 10 stars!!

Friendships are important at any age...especially important during the changes that happen as a female goes from little girl to young lady. Contains information in how to make and keep friends and how to choose those qualities in friends that we would ALL want.

Almost every problem my daughter (10 years old) has isn't discussed in this book. She was hoping for a bit more help with some friendship issues. She really likes the great comebacks to say to people who are being mean.

I recommend this book for anyone working with adolescent girls, particularly girls in middle school and the first two years of high school. It's simple, clear, and kids will like it, as well as mentors.

Our granddaughter asked me to purchase this book for her as she was having some difficulties with the girls at her school. She reads the book frequently and we talk about what she is reading, the ideas from the book and what she can do specifically with her issues. I am going to order more books for her from the series as she seems to be getting alot out of it.
