Retribution: Psychological Thriller

The book starts with a detailed rape scene, which bothered me to the degree that I couldn't sleep that night after reading it. Then as the story progressed C.J. chose such an unethical path that I remained uncomfortable as time went on, and looked for what should have been an amazing solution. However, there was not, so she remains a very flawed main character. It is very well written, but I guess it is a genre not for me. I had already ordered the next two books in the series and do not want to read them ... can one return e-books?

Jilliane Hoffman really makes you feel as you are one with the main character....she draws you in from the 1st sentence, which not many writes can do. This is one book I can read over and over again.

More graphic than I normally choose. Yet my biggest concern was the wordiness. A three page description of a room not relevant to the plot is excessive and time consuming to me as a reader. The characters were interesting, yet slightly predictable.

A portrait that anything is possible. A good insight into the "This can't be happening realm". You truly never know who you might be telling your life story to. The one you trust, such as a doctor, might be capable of the "unthinkable". The book reminds women they should be more aware, and the doctor is not always her friend.

This was a riviting, keep your attention book. Don't think I have ever read a book so fast. She is a new author so did not know what to expect and was delighted. I have already started reading the second book.

I had never heard of Jilliane Hoffman, so this was a wonderful surprise. It was a real page turner and held you until the very last page. I understand this was her first book so now I'm looking for her second.
