Was very pleased with this book. Well written, not alot of special or stange foods to buy. I especially liked how the book gives you quick and easy meals to make and then use the leftovers for lunches and other meals that week. Helps when you are in a hurry or just don't have the time to plan and make elaborate meals that some of the books give you. Dr. Stork gives you easy snacks that you can mix and match, helps you with incorporating the type of eater you are with flexible food plans. Easy reading and what he says makes alot of sense. Tells you how to easily incorporate exercising (or burning calories) in your every day routine. I would recommend this book to anyone that is looking to lose weight and wants it simple.

Anyone who has even a modest knowledge of healthy eating will gain little from this book. Most of the information is already well known. It doesn't help me much, as I had already been using 90% of the suggestions listed. However, it may be useful to someone who is just starting out with weight management & has a lot of changes to make.
As for the writing style, the author spends a little too much time trying to be cute. He seems to think he is on TV, repeating those short phrases that serve well as sound bites. It gets tiresome after awhile. Fewer attempts at humor & more emphasis on practical advise would have been more useful.

After watching the show, The Doctors, I decided to order Dr. Travis' book on belly fat, its effects on our bodies, how to lose it, as well as a complete exercise program. This book has been one of the BEST that I've ever read on this subject! It's easy to understand and put into action. I highly recommend it!

I downloaded the kindle version after sampling the 1st chapter which was centered on the author and very much felt like a verbose seles pitch. I bought into the pitch and decided to acquire the whole book. Un unfortunate choice, the book may have some usuefull information, but mostly is evident, obvious, easily acquired over the internet for free, or useless. The book continues to be very verbose throughout, too much centered on the author's anecdotes to be practical, and therefore not very user friendly. I think one needs something lighter, handier and less narcissist to be helpful.

The title of this book is misleading. The focus is on loosing weight and it is intended for those with a weight problem. My weight is fine but I need to loose belly fat. I have had 4 children and the older I get the more belly fat I have to deal with. Is there anything more that I can do or eat to get a lean belly? I do abdominal exercises and have a good diet. I hoped this book would offer something new on how to get rid of my belly fat. Dr Travis discussed food but there was nothing that I had not already read in other books. My question remains...what specific foods go directly to my belly and stay there forever? And that question remained unanswered after reading this book. For those who want to read another book on how to loose weight this book contains sound advice and was fun to read.

This book is wonderful, I'm sure. The only problem is my tendency to not follow through with new habits that would be good for me. That's my fault -- not the book's. I didn't read much of it, to tell the truth.

I was not much impressed with this book. Not everyone can afford to buy a bike to exercise with. Also, the recipes were not all that affordable either. Not everyone has the financial capabilities of a doctor.
