Audrey has simplified my life with this book! It is easy to follow and the recipes are easy to prepare. I am about ready to get rid of 42 years of cookbooks and make this my holy grail We have already made the guacamole dip and tomorrow we are doing the ranch dip. Highly recommend this for anyone as a healthy alternative

I recently purchased this book and have tried some of the recipes. So far everything has tasted good and I am happy with the purchase. I do wish it was a book that could lay flat on the counter while cooking. Also, I did find one mistake on the blueberry pancakes. The recipe does not make 24 pancakes using 1/4 cup scoop. I barely got 12. Would need to use 1/8 cup measure to get 24 pancakes.

I was disappointed with this cookbook. There are hardly any vegetable recipes, and a ton of bread/sweet recipes...basically all the types of foods that aren't healthy for overweight people to constantly indulge in and got us into trouble in the first place. This book doesn't encourage a better way to eat, it encourages eating the same way as in the past, just making substitutions to cut calories (and in my opinion, flavor and texture). Adding bell pepper to everything doesn't make it "healthy", nor does including Greek yogurt in everything or applesauce. Some of us need to watch sugars from all sources, including fruits, and dairy often causes belly fat and bloat.

Furthermore, this author claims that she went down to a size 4. There are pictures of her in the book. There is no way she's a size 4, so that's misleading.

Finally, the plethora of the word "veggies" used throughout this book became thoroughly annoying, especially because 1) I didn't see many VEGETABLE recipes and 2) she threw that word out there constantly and yet evidence of VEGETABLE use was minimal.

I don't recommend this cookbook, there are better ones out there that actually teach a healthier way of eating.

We love this cookbook. My husband and I have both lost about 20 lbs in less than 2 months. This is not a starvation diet. It is healthy eating and the elimination of anything processed. We eat salads, sliders, and pizza....yes pizza! My favorites are the breakfast cookies, waffles, and pancakes. I've been dieting for 25 years. We are actually sticking to this.

Great book! The recipes are very tasty and family friendly! My entire family has been eating "Cleaner" since I purchased this book. Not only has it help me and my husband lose weight, but I also feel better about what I am feeding my children. I look forward to Audrey Johns' next cookbook!

Surprised to find that there were no fish or seafood recipes. The recipes that do appear are interesting but do require that you skip around in the book a lot searching for named ingredients on other pages, e.g., Salsa Rice and Chicken Bake on page 198 requires 1/4 c. Five Minute Salsa on page 96. You have the ability to substitute your favorite salsa, but you must refer to the Five Minute Salsa recipe to see if the ingredients/liquid equivalent of your favorite salsa would significantly change the moisture content of the dish.

Best book for me! This book satisfies my hunger for good food and most of the ingredients are super easy to find. My daugher, a chef (specialty Italian) was amazed at the simplicity of many of the entrees. I've lost over eight pounds without much effort by following the guidelines-no artificial sweeteners. I'm using fresh organic foods when possible and it truly is worth it! Thanks for keeping it real... no wood chips and celery sticks for me!

Meh. Not impressed. Nothing revolutionary here... The basic message is, "Don't eat crap." Duh, doesn't take a genius to figure that out. And some of the recipes that I tried are inaccurate. For example, the "Giant Breakfast Cookie" recipe says to "use an ice cream scoop to place tennis-ball-size dollops of cookie dough" on a baking sheet to yield 15 cookies. I doubled the recipe and got about 20 cookies. I don't mind having to double a recipe to make enough of something for my family, but for a book where serving size and portion control are important, I consider this a HUGE fail. I'd like to give the author the benefit of the doubt, but I tried the recipe TWICE, and I know what a tennis ball looks like... so...? ALSO, the author omits WATER whenever it's an ingredient in a recipe. Instead, she tells you in the instructions when to add water if it's needed. Sorry, I ain't got time for that. I don't mind reading the instructions the first time, but after that, I just scan the ingredients list and go by memory. Taking this approach will totally screw up any future attempts at these recipes.

That said, I do think this book has some good ideas, like using homemade applesauce as a sweetener and eating oatmeal for breakfast. But... word to the wise... if you make the applesauce, don't waste your time peeling the apples first. Just slice them, cook them up with a little water, and throw them into the food processor, peels and all. Saves time, adds fiber. And if you make oatmeal for breakfast, follow the cook time on the packaging. For old fashioned oats, the cook time is less than half what's recommended in this book. Unless you like mushy oatmeal.

Good resipe but they require certain ingerdeants that is suggest that you make it home made before putting in a resipe like "Apple Sace" and more..but there are some easy and yummy resipes to make in here you are sure to love.
