The Space Between Us is easily one of my favorite reads of the year for good reason.

Beginning off with Charlie and her dad moving to a new town, she knows no one and has no friends. That all changes when a boy named Asher defends her from a boy who was throwing rocks at her. It takes some time, but they become best friends. As with most relationships, the dynamic of theirs begins to change as they grow older and new feelings start to emerge.
I won't ruin the story with spoilers. You need to read this book. New friends, new and first love, forever loves, heartbreak, pain...you go through the whole cycle and back again. It's a beautiful story that I'll be reading again very soon. It's one of those books that I never wanted to end. Thank You Anie Michaels for this heart-warming story of Asher and Bit.

I fell in love with Anie Michaels writing style with Porter and Ella. She does not disappoint with Charlie and Asher. Thier story spans from childhood into adulthood. This book takes you through every emotion. Loss, friendship, grief, love, true love, fear, tragedy, anger, heartache and forgivenees. The story is told from dual POV and in three parts. I cried with Charlie, I laughed with Carlie and Asher and thier antics, both as best friends and as a couple. I cried with Asher and I got angry at Asher and I grieved with them. If an author is able to evoke so much emotion from a reader then they have done thier job. There is so much to be said about this beautiful story, but I want to keep my review spoiler free. I would definitely recommend this book to everyone I know.

This book was amazing. It's really interesting the way the story is divided into three parts and take place in 3 different periods of Charlie and Asher's lives. Even though they are young I really enjoyed reading as their relationship grew. Believe me the ending of part 2 is heartbreaking. I enjoyed getting both POV's in the 3rd part. It helps give more depth to Asher. The only downside. I kept waiting to see what happened to separate them due to the blurb. I couldn't figure how in the world Asher could ruin it. He was so in love with Charlie but when it comes while surprising it is believable.

Anie Michaels has pulled me into yet another wonderful story! Friendship, humor, stirrings of first love, commitment, angst, loss, forgiveness and hope draw you into a book that makes you want to read it in one sitting. Without giving too many spoilers, you will learn to know Charlie, Asher and Reeve. The story alternates being the points of view of Charlie and Asher, as they grow from children to adults. The story had me alternately smiling and crying as they worked through the issues in their lives and finally found their way through pain, forgiveness and finding their way back to where they belonged. This is a MUST READ book!

I received this for an honest review. I absolutely found this book to the perfect love story between two people. Charlie and Asher meet when Charlie moves to town as an 11 year old with her father. They become fast friends and over time throughout their teen years that friendship turns to love. This story follows them throughout those years. I fell in love with Charlie and Asher this was such a sweet romantic book and one that you can just feel the love pouring out of the pages for them. I was instantly hooked with this book. This book absolutely had everything I love about books..

What a beautiful love story. This book is a long one, but worth every page. The main part of the book starts with Charlie as a young girl who had lost her mother and her home town, to be moved to start over with her father where she meets the love of her life. The book goes through their youth with high school and into college. Then jumps to thirteen years later. It was very sad to see her hang onto her pain for so long, to not really live life. Glad to see the ending as it was. This book has a great story line with well-defined characters. I liked this book a lot and can’t wait to read more from this author.

This book had so much potential.. It told a story of a girl who falls in love with her best friend and love each other with all they have. Then they grow up and head to college and this is where the story starts to fall apart. Asher has pretty much been the perfect boyfriend up until he gets some unexpected news from Charlie. Instead of sticking to character we get thrown a big ass curve ball and he becomes the biggest douche. The rest of the story isn't even worth mentioning. I don't think ill be recommending this book..

This book is all about true love, soul mates, and fate. And you know me, I was sad when it ended because I want to know everything, not just about Asher and Charlie but also how their lives unfold from here. Someone that can leave you wanting more and yet you know their story is complete is what makes a great author!

I’m in love with how Anie Michael’s is able to suck the reader into the characters world and give them a magical, amazing and breath-taking ending. Take a peek and see for yourself, you can thank me later.

This is another awesome book written by Anie!
The story starts with Charlie, the new girl at school being bullied. But Asher comes to protect her, they grow as best friends and then eventually true love. I love how loving and protective Asher is about Charlie. But there is a part in the book I wanted to throw something at him, probably would have been the box of tissues I needed.
If you want a book with a HEA, this is your book! But you will probably also need tissues and a box of chocolate with it also!

Anie Michaels does it again but in a totally different way. TBSU is an emotional roller coaster that leaves you with a love hate relationship with both of the main characters. You will need some tissues on hand and be ready to laugh, cry and everything in between. Amazing story of young love and touches on some emotional topics that will break your heart and at the same time shows what real love and true best friends go thru. You will not be disappointed with this book. Buy it now!!!!!!!

From the moment I started reading I have done nothing but wonder....what are they doing? What are they thinking? What will happen? Where will this go?

When you are cooking dinner and find yourself thinking about characters in a book, like you know them you know the author has you hook, line and sinker. When you are craving those moments where you get to pick up the book and continue reading you know the author has the skill to reel you in. When you are reading and it is time to stop and resume life and you try and snatch moments more to read just a few more lines, just another chapter, you know the author creates a world that consumes you.

This book takes you on the emotional roller coaster ride of your life. You will go on the blossoming journey of young love and every page turn will leave you wanting more. You will laugh, you will cry, you will need it and when you have finished if you are anything like me you will feel sad that for now, it is over. All signs of a fantastic book very worthy of 5*

This was masterfully written, holding me hostage with hope until the bitter end. But. Sigh. But, she had to try one last plot twist that ruined the epic love story with a trite and unbelievable breakup before the inevitable HEA. If I could go back and just skip the last few pages and end the story with their reconciliation, it would have been 5- stars.

4.5 stars for this emotional journey to true love for Asher and Charlie.

At age 11, Charlie has to deal with a new school, a new town and the loss of her mother to cancer. Not one to make friends easily anyway, Charlie has a tough time until Asher Carmichael takes her under his very protective wing. A beautiful friendship turns into young love as the couple grow up and leave for college.

Unfortunately, choices are made which drastically alter both of their futures. Unable to handle betrayal, Charlie leaves town but is never able to get over her first love.

As an adult, Asher regrets his past behavior every day. His life still revolves around his love for a girl he hasn't seen in thirteen years. But circumstance bring them back together. Will they be able to overcome their past and eliminate the space between them to build a future?

A little about how the story is written: This is a dual POV, however the first half is solely Charlie. Asher's POV adds a lot to the story when it comes in to play. The novel is also divided up into three parts. The first when they are quite young, the second is more college age, the third they are early 30's, I believe. This really helped get over the time jump from parts 1, 2, and 3.

Don't let the young ages of the characters in part one fool you... there is a lot of steam and sexy scenes when the characters are older. The first part was probably my favorite, watching the friendship blossom into first love and how amazing Asher was.

Speaking of Asher... yes, you will adore him and then probably want to kill him at some point. But keep reading! I cried several times and the story is pretty angsty but it is a truly beautiful coming of age love story.

Only a few, tiny criticisms: The writing isn't perfect, there are times where better editing would have improved the story. And I don't mean typos, I mean sentence structure. I didn't notice any glaring typos or grammar problems. The end seemed a bit rushed but I was pretty much ok with this. The story spans so many years, that dragging it out further really isn't necessary.

I highly, highly recommend this book, a bonus is that it's a stand alone. This is Anie's best work yet (and I enjoyed her previous series!).

this book is in three parts, Charlie and Asher meet when she moves to town when she is 11 and he fights off a bully. Their friendship is sweet and endearing, and as they grow up they fall in love with each other. The next part of their story is college things happen and a big misunderstanding drives them apart. Charlie kind of fades into herself a shell of a girl and Asher follows his dreams while lost without Charlie. The last part of the book is a decade later when Charlie is called home. She has pretty much been hiding from everyone who loves her since college. Asher is still lost without her but he still loves her. This one was the emotional rollercoaster ride of the week. I was happy, sad, pissed off (almost threw my ipad) heartbroken, angry, confused and I would have liked a little more epilogue to make me feel complete in the story.

This book was beautiful, horrible, tragic, and magical all in one!!! I laughed, cried, cursed a little and wanted to throw my Kindle more than once. I loved how the author gave the whole story without drowning you in mindless details, she told just enough to make every part of Asher and Charlie's relationship important and with the span of 11 years old until mid-thirties, she could have bogged the story down but it flowed through until the end and grabbed you and pulled you into the love of Asher and Charlie.

Loved this authors Never series and was excited for this book...and she did not disappoint. Love the young love and was sad for the angst. The couple had a strong connection that could not be overlooked even through all the turmoil. Loved the ending.

Well written heart felt love story of a coming to age couple. Story drew me in from the very beginning. Made me laugh and cry at times. Which is what you want as a reader to do. To be able to connect to a story. This book did that for me.
