My Skylar

I started with step brother dearest and had to read more of Penelopes books. This book was incredible!! A very emotional read that I could not put down. I loved Seamus, caught myself laughing out loud then a few chapters later I would be crying. Don't pass this one up. This is one of my favorites.

AMAZING!! A beautiful story. I could not put down and finished in one day. It was a journey I was happy to take. I became invested in the characters, laughed out loud, cried and smiled until my face hurt. This is on my favorite list. A definite must read; take your breath away story. I highly recommend this book--read it now!!

Omgoodness loved this!!!! I read Jake Undone first then My Skylar. I thought the story of Jake undone was good, but to my surprise this was even better! I would recommend this book, and I will re-read it again. I would probably rate this as one of my favorites. Keep up the good work Ms. Ward.

Brought out all the feels. I was so dang invested in this couple. They went through so much together my heart was in my throat for half the book but it was so great and totally worth it. I will 1click buy any an every book by this author now. Like the notebook with a happier ending lol.

What an emotional roller coaster!!! These two just could not catch a break! I couldn't put this book down though just like the two books before this one I was hooked! I loved it and I want more! Ugh I can't wait for Jake Understood to come out next year. These books are all a most read.

Somethings are trully meant to be. Mitch and Skylar were destined to be together. They just took the long route to get there.

A beautiful heart wrenching story that I literally couldn't put down! They go through so many hardships but in the end we still end up with the most perfect ending. This was definitely a must read for anyone that loves a good HEA.

Penelope Ward is an outstanding author and this book is proof. I started reading and had to force myself to stop reading by 2am. I finished the book the following day. There is so much history, heart, heart ache, friendship and true love. This story will stay with you forever.

Penelope Ward is quickly becoming one of my favourites romance writers. I especially like her plot and character-driven stories that have twists and turns in them. And this story from friends to lovers did justice to the genre, too.

WOW!!!!! Out of the Gemini series I absolutely love My Skylar, I will be reading this one again. I loved it so much. I couldn't put the book. I read it in 24 hours. Total book hangover!!!! you will laugh cry and be angry at times. Love love love.

I just couldn't stop reading. I read some reviews very negative and I can't understand why. This book is amazing. A very romantic story of two kids finding true love since kids to adulthood. 5 stars is not enough

Penelope Ward has a magic mind, beautiful writing and obviously a happy, content heart. It seems like so long ago that I read Jake Undone and I had forgotten how much I adore her writing and amazing stories.

Skylar and Mitch- the love of a lifetime. destiny. SO many years and so many circumstances to keep them apart for too long. The road back to each other is paved with fear, guilt, heartache but above all else, undying love. Oh--I loved these two together! So much!

This book has everything---humor, anger, intense emotion, vividly hot love scenes, love, hate, fear, guilt…and as the reader, I felt it all. The characters were unique (especially Seamus) and each relevant to the story. Jake and Nina (from Jake Undone) made many appearances, and you have to love Jake who approached Skylar with the same greeting each time- "hey bitch."

In the end of the book, I felt something I don't always feel with Happily Ever Afters….Peace.

A captivating book that doesn't give release for your eyes and for your soul , from the first chapter to the end of the book i felt like being in a roller coaster of emotions. Masterpiece from the creator of PENELOPE . A very unique love story spread over many years. Begins from childhood to adult life of Skyler and Mitch. Every word of this amazing book engraved in my heart. Tears came to my eyes and I lost total control on them, and emotions that enveloped me while reading the book.
Life is always unpredictable and they get sharp turns disastrous. When the only connection that can keep up the broken heart is strong and true love.Skyler has a strong jolt in her life as a teenager, and was able to beat cancer, largely thanks to the strong love that she received from Mitch . But the realization of their love and their final union as a couple, occurred only after many years, and their strong love needed to pass tough test. Mitch believed that their love is stronger than anything, he did not stop to fight for her, even when it seemed to run out of power and when he felt his heart divided into thousands of pieces, he fought it with all his heart, and finally he won . This book left me crying after i finished to read it. this book left me with so many thoughts. The best book to finish this amazing year . Highly recommended

Penelope Ward is one of my favorite authors! I really enjoyed this book! I can't believe I haven't read it before now. I couldn't put it down! I can't wait for her next book release. I'm never disappointed.

I am officially hooked on this author. After reading 2 of her amazing books I am now going to read the rest!! If you're a stone cold romantic like myself and love well developed and funny characters.....READ PENELOPE WARD BOOKS!!!!!

3.5 Heartfelt First Love is Your Forever Love Stars!

Keeping it simple and close to the vest I will say this is an emotional rollercoaster! Mitch and Skylar meet as kids...immediately connect and develop an amazing relationship. They have a life-time of hits as misses that start out very young...each one more painful. High drama and high angst as you read about two people who truly love one another only to have LIFE get in the way...whether parental difficulties, health scares, or distance...no two people have ever struggled to be together.

This is the perfect read to truly understand the concept of "setting something free to see if it comes back, and if is really yours." Mitch is one the best book boyfriends ever! Fabulously patient, sweet, and completely in love. Skylar was pretty awesome at first, however as she matured, she grated on me a bit! I am not a fan of insecurity and I really struggled with her push-pull attitude with Mitch...but hey there's that drama!!!

Overall, I liked the read...I am a sucker for forever kind of love and when it is a man that is all in, doing the work, then hell yes, I like!!!

I always enjoy the stories Penelope Ward writes, but this by far was my favorite! I have no idea why it took me so long to purchase this book. It has a lot of unpredictable parts and a beautiful ending!

I happened upon this book through one of the book blogs I follow. I am definitely a serious "one-click" addict. I really enjoy reading and am very open about exploring new authors. I have found some of my favorite authors by taking a chance. This book was definitely one I will always be glad that I took a chance on.

I'm sure that at the point I downloaded it, I read the summary and a handful of reviews, but when I started reading two days ago, I didn't really remember much of what I'd read. I'm glad. It was a very authentic experience, because I didn't have any idea what was coming. I found both Mitch and Skylar to be very real and very likable. I felt their connection right from the beginning of the book. The situations in this book made me feel right along with the characters. I laughed and I definitely cried. The portrayal of the challenges the characters face does not gloss over the messy/unpleasant details. I especially found the details about what Skylar went through in her cancer treatment to be incredibly real. This is one of those books that grabs hold and doesn't want to let go. When I turned off my Kindle just past 50% last night, I knew that I was going to be recommending this book to friends.

The author gets bonus points for taking the story in to my backyard. I have spent many wonderful days with my children on the beach at Sandbridge. The fact that I could feel like I was right there with Mitch and Skylar at that point in the book made the whole experience even more genuine and intense.

This was my first Penelope Ward book, but it definitely won't be my last.

What a amazing job. Another awesome read that has put me in tears! I'm so glad about the ending!! Storyline is great and the characters are awesome! Definitely a must read but make sure you have the tissues handy!!

I like that the author included started with the beginning of Sklyar and Mitch's relationship from when they were children and kept it going into adulthood. Their story spans over a long time but it doesn't feel rushed. Nothing felt left out. This is my first time reading a book written by this author and I'm looking forward to reading more.

The character development of Mitch and Skylar through the years was superb. The story was addicting and the twists were most certainly not expected. A few times I had to put the book down because it really became overwhelming for me. The payoff was huge however and this time around, I appreciated and NEEDED the HEA. I did get upset with Skylar over some of the decisions she made, but it made her no less likable a character. I appreciated the fact that although it is part of the Jake Undone series, the story of Mitch and Skylar came to a HEA because if it ended unresolved, I don't think I would have been okay with it. Some of the plot points really got to me on a personal level and I found this story very emotionally moving. I really connected with the characters. This story is intense and oh so emotional. I love this author and her characters. Keep them coming Ms. Ward!

WOW AMAZING READ. This book is full of emotions. Have your kleenex ready. I could relate to this book in so many ways. Love can sometimes be great or plain out ugly. This book had me wishing Mitch would win her over and in the end he won his Skylar and true love prevailed itself. I would read this book over so many times cause its a great read. My first book by the author and she now has a new fan.

Wow, just wow! I absolutely loved this story. It was different, and unexpected. The story was far from perfect, but the ending was flawless! I experienced so many mixed emotions reading this book, it just consumed me. You definitely need to read this book - it was imperfect but beautiful in every sense of the word!

I loved, loved, loved this book! There was never a moment that I thought "I knew that was going to happen!" I liked the dual POV as it gives you insight to what Mitch is feeling as well. So beautifully written.

THE most heart-wrenching love story I have read! The characters are normal people meaning no billionaire CEOs or fashion models. Normal people with normal life problems. The one scene where Mitch loses it after wanting to be with Skylar for years, is so emotional and just real true feelings that anyone can relate to. I still go back to read that scene.
