A well written book with facts and opinions explained in context of situation. This book made me re-think of a lot of ideas I earlier has about Gandhi. Though, I do not agree with many of his experiments, he does make one believe that his motive after every one of them was finding the truth of things. The universality of compassion towards all beings is infectious.

I would recommend this book to whoever wants to know intimate details about Gandhi and also learn his way of life. I am not sure how much of whatever he did is applicable in today's time but, it is worth a try. I especially loved his experiments with his diet and simple way of living.
If you are expecting a great deal about the Freedom Movement then this books is not for you. It has very little or nothing to do with India's Independence Movement and Gandhi's contribution to it.

This book is difficult to read. Has flimsy pages so printing from the other side of the page is a hindrance to reading as well as the font size which is too small. Not worth the price I paid on the store $17.00?? The book sells for less than $2.00 in Indian currency and the one shipped out to me was an Indian print. Better quality pages, larger font and better printing could make it a collectible in one's library.

Book is awesome and unbelievably true to know insides of one of the greatest persons of the History. Kindle version is very very good. I read some reviews that kindle version is not good but that is completely false. Had I believed that I could not able to read about this greatest character.

This book is as Gandhi titled it - his experiments with truth. The publisher sells it as an autobiography. It's not. This book is a remarkable exploration of Gandhi's personal values as he tests them, learns from his errors and moves forward to try again. Gandhi's life is almost background scenery for his wonderful discussion of life, values and this man's seemingly boundless sense of human compassion.

Ghandi's autobiography is a rather long but interesting account of his own life by one who was basically a good man, but with some unusual ideas and errors of judgement which he frankly reports if and when he is aware of them. Weaknesses are the use of too many obscure Hindi words and too many names of individual people which would mean nothing to most readers.

A beautiful and touching good read! a Great example of how we should try and live-- kindness, honesty, respect, loyalty..., enjoyed reading and walking with Mohandas Gandi's 'An AutobiographyThe Story of My Experiments with Truth' as he journeyed through his life. He was a deeply good and conscience human being. I would highly recommend this book to all.

I learned much of Hinduism by reading this book. Even though I have spent many days
in travel through India and living in Pakistan it gave me more insight to the perils of living in the Third World.
India still is in many ways unchanged over the last several decades.

Absolutely enlightening, from the heart and truthful. He is the Mahatma who has taught the world to achieve anything through Non-Violence. His Non-Violent movement that inspired Martin Luther King and Nelson Mandela is an example of what can be achieved without shedding a drop of blood.

Great insight into what made this wonderful man of peace. Gandhi's self discipline and commitment to do the right things is life is something all of us should strive for. Everyone should aspire to follow this man's outlook of life.

Good book for learning history of India, South Africa, Religion and Gandhi's public work.
Nevertheless, it was difficult to read because the theme of the stories was repetitive and the book seemed very long. Not an exciting book but very educational. Recommend it for learning but not for entertainment.

This book has influenced not only Hindus, Indians but Martin Luther King also.
The practices recommended require not only physical courage, but also spiritual integrity. They are not impossible, simply not tried, but they do work!

A classic book! One must read to appreciate the genius of Gandhi. In one life time Gandhi delineated the root cause of the conflict arising from in-just social structure, formulated tactics based on nonviolence to resist the oppression and demonstrated that the nonviolence is the way to solve societal ills.

I saw the movie of Gandhi many times, the version with Ben Kingsley, and wanted to know more about this great man. The book is just as good as what you learn in the movie, plus much much more. In the time since reading this I have gotten many other books about this man's earlier life and again...amazing knowledge to be had from his life. The world lacks many people of this type...the types that are dedicated to peace.
