I love this method of learning to code, because you feel that what you learn in small increments through reading the short chapters and then completing the exercises stays with you. I bought all his books and am having great fun exploring the beginner stages of coding.

This book served as a reasonably good introduction. I think it suits first time programmers best. Great value

As an ex-programmer who was ‘coming out of retirement’ after a 15 year break (never used Python before), it worked well for me initialy, but by the halfway point I was remembering a lot of old skills and I found myself wanting a deeper level of detail.

With this book, Python is quite easy to learn. It would be great text for those who have never coded before, and quick to get through for those who know other coding languages. The context isn't as in-depth as I would've expected, but the details of coding come more through experience than anything else. Other than that, the book does an excellent job of teaching the lessons if you do the interactive exercises as well.

Learning Python as my first programming language, and this book is the best I've seen yet. Combining the book with the online exercises works very well, and everything is very clearly explained. Loved it.

Well worth the price, with easy to understand practice exercises at the end of each topic.
I gained confidence in my ability as I completed each exercise.
I was able to progress without any doubts in the subject matter.

He really breaks in down into steps and doesnt use too much technical vocabulary so its not over your head as a beginner! would definately reccomend to anyone who wants to learn to code

I really glad I have started with this book. Actually I was using it in combination with an Udemy online course (of a different author). This book was a perfect compliment. I even start thinking about learning C++ using the book of the same author.

I've dealt with many different coding related books while getting my degree and none of them were as easy to pick up and go as this book. Very practical and too the point. Highly recommend for anyone interested in getting started with Python or looking to refresh their memory.

the exercises are a brilliant way to reinforce what is covered in each chapter. I'm brand new to coding and it seems so daunting, but I already feel confident that I can learn and I'm only a few chapters and exercises in! I would recommend to anyone who wants to learn to code. awesome book.

I have been programming in python for a while, but I always forget the basics and rely on the internet to put me straight. This book is a great way to brush up on the basics and learn a few nuggets on the way. If you are a complete beginner its a great start, I wish I had started with something like this!

Phenomenal. Mr. Myers really knows how to teach clearly and balance with lots of quality practice exercises. I have used codecademy for a while and I have learned much more from Mr. Myers book in a short time. Definitely recommended.

growing up I always had huge troubles trying to learn programming languages then I picked up a smarter way to learn html and css and the JavaScript version. Now i am pretty good at all three languages. Now I am moving on to python and its great.

My initial impression, as I am working through the lessons, is that this is a good way to learn the basics. Each chapter is focused on a specific topic, and the practice exercises help burn the concepts into muscle memory.

Great book for learning Python. The lessons are short and to the point without all the wasted fluff. The best part are the online exercises that really help it stick. By far the best method for learning a new coding language I have seen.

The difference between just reading and learning is being able to apply the knowledge gained. This book takes you stepwise thru the process and makes it easy to assimilate new information thru practice. I loved tis author's approach to teaching and wish to express my thanks.

I have taken a couple Python courses in college and this book is great. It starts out at the most basic level (good for others not for me) and gets progressively more complex. The method of teaching works and it helped me get back into Python for another class after not having used it for a couple semesters.

This author's learn-by-doing approach to learning makes the learning very easy and effective. I've been through other books that only talked about how to do Python programming, but, this book actually empowers the reader to do what's being taught. I'm really enjoying these learning lessons.

This book, or rather, system, is very helpful for learning. It forces you to walk thru each point of learning by actually writing and executing code. I read each chapter on my phone (Kindle version) and do the exercises on my laptop. Kudos to the author.

I really like the book. The explanations are clear and easy to understand for newbies. Then, doing some exercises on the provided website helps to strengthen the learning experience. I'm working full-time and I can find 15 minutes each day to see real progress in Python.

I struggled and stumbled through two other Beginning Python courses, failing to complete either, but "A Smarter Way to Learn Python" offers lots of reinforcement and the pacing of the course strikes a perfect balance between comfortable and challenging for a rank beginner like me.

I love the "Smarter Way to Learn" series! This is the 2nd book from this series that I'm working through. Mark Myer's teaching is straightforward and engaging; and the combination of reading and then completing online exercises helps so much with the learning process.
