Six months ago, Jack "King" Sigler received an urgent message from his late sister's former fiancé George Pierce to meet him at the Siletz Reservation in Oregon. When he arrives, he finds the place in ruins with thousands dead. The one survivor of the attack thirteen year old Native American Fiona Lane has a note pinned to her shirt by Alexander Diotrephes, who the King believes is Hercules; he says he is going after the mass murderers. Sigler brings together the rest of the Chess Team (Queen, Rook, Bishop and Knight) to help him protect Fiona and to learn why the deadly assault happened and who is behind it.

In the present in family court, Sigler swears he will be a good parent to Fiona as the judge names him her foster father. However, as more people who speak dying ancient languages are systematically massacred, the Chess Team with President Duncan joining them must end the debacle, but struggle to learn who is behind the attacks. Instead, they face giant living granite statues, literally Neanderthals, genetic impossibilities, hydras and megaliths by someone who wants to checkmate the Chess team to prevent their intrusion. As they confront lethal enemies, none are aware of the danger from within as Fiona is kidnapped at Fort Bragg; fearing the Judge most of all, King and crew attempt a rescue.

As always the Chess Team is over the top of the stratosphere, but anyone who relishes an action urban fantasy thriller that combines science and mythology will want to join them for the exhilarating Pulse pumping ride. The story line is as always fast-paced so wear our seatbelts and set aside time as this heart thumper never slows down making it impossible to set aside as the Instinct of the audience is one sitting.

Robinson's Chess Team books take the readers on a wild ride, and this one is no exception. In fact, he seems to top himself with each story! I don't understand why the tagline was changed from Chess Team adventure to Jack Sigler adventure. I felt that I good a good dose of all of the characters on this one, even though they were split-up for the majority of the story. I'm guessing it has to do with the things that were set in motion for the future of the team...without ruining anything here, I'll just say that I can't wait for the next one, but I hope we don't have to wait a year in between adventures! I always forget too much!

Robinson is most known for his quick strike approach and detailed character development and he doesnt disappoint!

Threshold is book #3 in Jeremy Robinson's best selling series of the Jack Sigler & the Chess Team. Jack & company have a new mission: investigate a terrorist attack in Oregon & protect the only survivor, a 13 year old girl.

New monsters - New locations - Same great writing that has me on the edge of my seat chapter by chapter!!!

The time spent reading this novel has been one of pure awesomeness!! And the end is breathtaking living you suspended and wondering what's next. Jeremy is pushing the bounds of creative writing to the next level. Language is the keyword and more I won't say :)

Threshold picks up after the Chess Teams adventures in Instinct. Mixing modern science, action, and mythology, Threshold is a thrill-a-minute adventure that will keep the reader guessing. Jack Sigler, callsign King, finds a great partner in mythology's greatest hero, Hercules. Fans of James Rollins are sure to enjoy this book. Happy Reading!

i ran across Jeremy Robinson while looking for a new author to read. If you like Clive Cussler, Dean Koontz, Robert Crais, Michael Palmer, M. Crichton, D. Preston or any of the many thriller, action authors out there, then you will LOVE Jeremy Robinson!.....His characters come to life on the pages and you feel as if you are in the story itself. Mixing fact, fiction and wonderful mythological tales, he has come up with something I have never read before. Try just one of his books and you will find yourself searching the store for all of them. I have bought Threshold and cannot wait to read it! Highly recommended!

I really enjoyed this book. It kept me turing the pages. I was a huge Michael Crichton fan. When he passed I was really disappointed that I would not find an author who could catch my imagination like him. Jeremy Robinson's books have filled this void. Robinson's books are definately a lot more action packed, but with that Crichton feel.

I would recommend this book to anyone who has read the Chess Team novels. I would recommend reading those first before getting into this one.

I have been looking forward to reading this book since the day I finished Instinct. I couldn't wait to be carried along on another adventure with the Chess Team. But this book was an enormous disappointment.

This is now a Jack Sigler adventure instead of a Chess Team adventure. Which I guess explains why the Chess Team never really worked together. It should have been called the King Alexander adventures. Also there was a lot more politics than the story really needed.

Now I will have to give a little spoiler in order to tell you the worst part and the reason for one star. One of the team, who in previous books was a character that would have easily given his life for his friends, goes off to Norway to live. He never once thinks of his team or the fact that they were possibly dying trying to save the world. I mean seriously. You can't take an established character and just have them act so out of character.

I understand why the Author wrote this book, because he is setting everything up for more books. And he has a character run off so we read his next book to find out if the character comes back. Which means that the thing the Author must care about the most is his future book sales.

I have red his ebooks from the beginnings, when they neede a lot of editing and publicity. I enjoyed reading you Mr. Robinson but the price on this latest Chess Team installement is an insult. I will not buy it!
