Adult reader and I enjoyed this series very much. Wonderful characters that you really care about. Beware, you will immediately have to go buy all of the other books as well to finish this amazing story. One of my new favorites!

Great story. The author really knows how to grab your attention and keep it. Bad Angels, good Angels, half Angels, yucky bad gross things and a whole lot of love and hate going on. Definitely a story worth reading.

First off, Love the cover! This book stars off with a mystery of why she is in the hospital. Then we had several chapters of "catch up" but after that I was caught in Cameo's web when the oh so sexy Kade comes to be Emma's escort! Great read with lots of action and surprises!
Note: Four Stars. For readers 14+
Tethered Wings (Hidden Wings Series Book Three) :: An Urban Fantasy Fairy Tale (Fairy World MD Book 1) :: God of the Sun (Stella and Sol Book 1) :: The Flame and the Arrow (The Annika Brisby Series) (Volume 1) :: Gilded Wings (Hidden Wings Series Book Four)

I really enjoyed this book. The story is fast paced and the characters have lots of depth. There is some extra creep factor with the darkling and the fallen. The heroine isn't too whiny and is a pretty strong lead character. I can't wait to read the next book

I like the intense spark that happens to the main characters, starts of with some action only to have a vigorous secret that keeps the reader interested to know what it is. Book picks up a lot of action a little more than half way all to the end with a cliffhanger

From. The first page I wanted to continue reading. Recently I have had the problem of actually getting into a book before it really got juicy, but this sparked my interest immediately. You feel the pain of the main character and Renae's writing brings you into this completely magical world. I felt like I was there smelling the breath of the Darkling. I simply could not put it down and I have reread it twice now just to try and occupy my imagination before June 1st. I never thought I was one for the science fiction but this truly captivated me!

This is an awesome start to a great series!! Emma is the main character but all the secondary characters pull their own weight. Who wouldn't want a guardian angel like any one of these guys! I love this story and can't wait for more!

I should have listened to the low reviews before I started this because I'm mad at myself right now. It is the first book that I have thought of using Audible's return policy for and I wish Kindle had one too even though I picked it up for free. So, where do I start?

It wouldn't have been so bad if it wasn't for the most egregious error an author can make in my mind.
She didn't finish the book. She ended a chapter and thought this is long enough and I can make more money if I break it into 3 books. Before that it was bad for the sheer amount of stupid tropes but not 1 star bad. It was like the author was reading a list of story tropes and thought - how can I put them all in one book? But wait, it won't actually be one book because she did the WORST THING and DIDN'T ACTUALLY FINISH THE BOOK!!!!!! If I had a physical copy I would have thrown it at a wall or given it to the neighbors dog to chew, or thrown it in my gardener's wood chipper.

Spoilers to follow but seriously you don't need to read the book.

List of tropes:
Orphaned
Unknown powers that start @ 17
Cosmic insta-love that no one has ever felt before who is of course the hottest guy ever
And we find out it is against the rules!! Oh no, what ever will I do?
Yay, Secret compound X-men style!
With it's very own Professor X or in this case "Aunt"
Prophecy, really?
Stupid teenager that thinks she can hang with guys that she wonders if they are vampires, werewolves or assassins. Because she is going to save the victim from the creature(s) that almost killed her or die trying.
Aunt who gives in to her every whim
But wait! Your parents weren't actually your parents! I'm your mom but your dad's dead.
But wait! Your dad isn't actually dead and he just saved your life!
Secret mark that tells everyone who your parents are and thus who you are
Title of the book "quietly" slipped in (author saying, see how smart I am?)
Villain that becomes "like a god" and then leaves everyone alive saying "Next time you see me you'll all die."
Another (smaller) secret base because we can't take our "prisoners" into the X-men style mansion because of a special barrier.
A cliffhanger ending: that is the end of a chapter not a book!! We're under attack and super love boy is off to get reinforcements is not the end of a book. This is my biggest pet peeve. If an author sells an incomplete book they need to be upfront. Like the old serial novels. You knew ahead of time what you were getting. I will never read another book by this author. I would have given this book 3 stars if it hadn't ended this way. I could have handled and mocked all the other tropes in this book and I'm sure I've forgotten some, and I would have chalked it up to truly juvenile young adult pulp but I will not forgive an author that pulls an ending like this.

This book was amazing. I was pleasantly at how many twists and suspenseful turns it was riding the best rollercoaster just to end it wanting even more. I will await a series with this book as its foundation. I refuse to give anything away. A new must read.

Didn't really know what to expect going into this book! I personally have a hard time getting into a new series and reading descriptions never seems to convince me to actually want to read a book so I just kinda wing it and it turns out that I really loved this series!! I haven't wanted to put this book down yet and finished the first one in one sitting. Needless to say, I am now starting the third book! Can't wait to find out what happens next :)

After taking the journey to Alaska and beyond, I've found a fantastic new literary hero. She is sweet, feisty and beyond powerful. I have fallen for Emma.

Emma is the main character in this new series from Cameo Renae. She is a future great in the indie writing world. I love her style and could easily see her stories as movies. Hidden Wings is a great way to start this series. Nice cliffhanger at the end. Can't wait for more.

The some characters where a little hard to like in the beginning. Though I started to like them by the end of the book. Very well written and amazing story line. I look forward to reading the next one.

Definitely found myself wishing for my own hero or at least someone to walk thru it all with me. Can you be jealous of a fictional character? Lol! What a world you created Cameo Renae! What a world!!

I downloaded this book randomly and it has been a great read! So good I finished it in a day and I can't wait to read the next part of this series. The author is very talented and keeps you on the edge of your seat the entire time!

From the very beginning, a wide range of questions grasps you and hooks you into the story. You read more and more to understand what is going on. You move with character, Emma, as she battles despair and agony of losing her parents, but you move with her as she fights for her life and everyone around her. Kade is quite the charm for Emma and quite the charm for me as a reader. He is funny and friendly and has the power to give Emma strength. Alaine is an interesting character. She is the mysterious aunt that adopts her when she loses her parents, but as the story flow Emma finds a deep connection to her, one she was not expecting.
This is great story, pushed by its characters and loved by its readers. I definitely recommend reading this.

The story itself was pretty good. I liked the mystery of Emma's aunt. What I didn't like about it was how quickly everything happened. Emma meets Kade, a boy gets kidnapped and the last half of the book is spent trying to find him. In this time, Emma and Kade pretty much fall in love with each other, even though it's only been a span of maybe 3-4 days in the entire book. Everything just felt rushed and the story didn't flow that well. To me, this book felt like it was missing something. Maybe if the author had allowed more time between the events it would have worked for me. Overall, it's not a bad book.

My first reaction to this book was being thrown into the story full speed and much too fast, without a chance to catch my breath and figure out what was going on. I think I would have preferred one chapter or at least a few pages in beginning to get me up to speed with Emma herself before the accident.
That being said, the opening page had me hooked and I quickly started figuring out what was happening.
A well written good versus evil and forbidden romance for Emma and Kade. There was so much action going on and twists and "ah ha's" that I could not put it down and when I got to the end, I wanted more.
Can't wait for the sequel.
