If you like Clive Cussler books, you will enjoy reading McDermitt. Reading this series was my first exposure and they kept me reading into the night. They don't have predicted endings and I was completely taken off guard with the last one. I recommend all three.

I rarely read series novels but this one keeps me coming back. Some of it is the lifestyle that many of us dream of living and the development of characters is well done. Many things are just too perfect but why not live in this world for awhile.

If you're a Bourne or Reacher fan, this is for you. The introduction of "Gunny" and his friends, the knowledge of South Florida, of boating/fishing information, and military camaraderie/expertise just pulls the reader wanting more.

This is my first Wayne Stinnett read. I was very impressed with the amount of accuracy and detail in his descriptions of most everything in the book. Regardless of whether is was describing a boat, an engine, a car, or geographic place, based on my knowledge, the descriptions were "on point". I enjoyed the story line and virtually everything was realistic - to a point. Jesse McDermitt, the main character, was almost too perfect with way more skills than even an above average person would have. That said, it was a good read and I will now move to the next book in his series. Fallen Series should interest anyone that enjoys adventure, intrigue, and action.

Disclaimer: I stopped reading before the third book, after both the first two used gang rape as a plot device and I honestly wished I'd stopped before the end of the second book. I've always loved the Clive Cussler series and thought this would be along the same lines; while otherwise it isn't terrible, I won't be finishing the series.

I've come to love this series, it's written by a man that obviously knows what he's talking about when it comes to boats, not just someone in front of a keyboard imagining things.
The stories are well written with almost no mistakes in spelling or sentence structure, two things that always pull me out of a story.
I would recommend these books to anyone that likes action books and books that have to do with the water.

The author describes the Caribbean locations in great detail, even the directions for getting there by boat. Makes you want to go visit them but are they fictional? If you live on the water, vacation by the water or ever wanted to, this is the thriller series for you. The plots get you rooting for the good guys (& gals) winning the struggle against the bad guys (& gals). I wouldn't want it any other way. Having a great time reading this series.

You are getting a chance to get the first three books of a great series for free. DON'T buy them UNLESS you are planning to follow the active retirement of Jesse McDermitt. And active it is. Just remember. these are bait that will have you hooked. And I had to pay for them and the rest of the whole series. And I would do it again in a heart beat. Semper Fi , and I am not even a Marine.

Well, i really wanted to like the books, but there are way too many boating details and no real plot. I found my eyes glazing and skipping most of the boat stuff. I was expecting action, so it was pretty boring from my standpoint

Jesse McDermitt is my kind of guy. He is at home on and under the water as he is facing down bad guys. I model one of my book's characters after Jesse; his morality, his guts, his fighting skills, his way with women. Of course my guy is better looking. I want to read more about Jesse. Bring us more Wayne Stinnett. BTW, Stinnett should be hired by the Florida Tourist Bureau for his love of the Florida Keys.

I knew, when I read a Trivia McGhee Quote on the opening page, that I was gonna like this Writer ! Then, throw in a great deal of Conch Knowledge, add a healthy dash of Buffett-Ville, top it all off with a Classic Float-Plane, and you have an "Unputdownable" Book custom made for this old Seaplane Sailor. Now, I'm off to read Book 7.

well written, entertaining characters as well as plot. a tad on the unbelievable side , however, in that the lead character swills beer round the clock and eats daily doses of fried seafood, yet still retains his rock hard body and Army Ranger "one man wrecking crew" fighting skills. But still thoroughly enjoyable

This series is fantastic. The author describes the characters in a way that made me feel like I knew them in real life. I enjoyed the way each adventure was told. I could not stop reading this series. I was sorry when I had read all of the books. Wayne Stinnett is a wonderful story teller. I will be reading more of his books.

Enjoyed the Jesse McDermitt stories. Goes into a little bit more description describing starting up the boats and the travel routes. Detracted from the story for me, I just don't need that much detail. Other than that, I enjoyed the stories. The mystery and action was very good. I like where good overpowers evil in the end. You need to like the Florida Keyes, as this is the setting for every McDermitt story. I would like to see Jesse do one complete book without having a female by his side. A different woman in every book, gets a little old and the women don't add that much to the storyline.

i am so happy to have found this author! Such detail in every aspect possible. i am always a little bit sad whenever i finish a series; i have gotten so attached to everyone, and i will miss all of them. Especially Pescador!

Entertaining series - fast paced/ easy read. In line with Clive Cussler or Vince Flynn. Definitely upbeat and active - always something happening next.... but don't expect deep character development or to learn anything - this is simply for fun!

I still can't believe I gave this guy a chance and actually read this. After reading a couple of his other books, I was very disappointed. Since Mr. Stinnett has so many reviews, maybe I needed to understand the entire story arc to enjoy the character? Don't make the same mistake I did. Notice how all of the reviews Mr Stinnett gets are not "verified?" (Verified = purchased the book from the store) At the time of this review over 70% of Mr Stinnett's reviews are not verified. Do your own math on his other books.
Although I applaud how he is consistently able to get his friends to copy and paste the reviews he supplies for them. I am equally disgusted by how he is able to game the store with all of his fake reviews to get visibility to become a "best seller." For the tiny niche category he ranks in, this tactic appears somewhat unnecessary. Unlike the others, I just can't post a fake review. So here goes...
If you want to learn how to sail, enjoy reading a Southern Florida fishing routes atlas, or want to sell him your services as an editor or cover artist then you need to check out Wayne Stinnett's sloppy, self indulgent, and one dimensional books. If you want a book that adheres to common punctuation and spelling rules, with a compelling story that intrigues you, then look elsewhere. Don't get tricked by his fake reviews.

If there were a cross between James Patterson and Randy Wayne White, it would be Wayne Stinnett! Seldom is a novel or series of novels so riveting to cause readers to be late for work, miss a meal or stay up way passed their normal bed time! And seldom is a writer so gifted as to turn words into easily visualized scenes and even characters you could recognize on sight! A new benchmark for writers!

This series of books are very close to comparing with Mr. Box's series of Game Warden Joe Pickett. One of the best romantic mysteries series, especially with the espionage parts entwined throughout. Too, I was very impressed with the out going camaraderie of the characters and how well the Author meshed them together. I have no problem recommending this series of novels to anyone, as I know everyone will be as impressed with them as I have been. Enjoyable reading material!
