Get this book. It's great. I wish I had known about it sooner.
Here's good science information for kids and adults too. At 70 I'm enjoying this clearly presented quality content. See page 287 for Greenhouse Gas explanations and learn more about human caused global warming. See Gregor Memdel's work on pee pods and genetics explained as well as species diversity. Talk about values, the values herein reflect what we learn from science about nature's inherent value to humanity and to itself. Yep, it comes down to ecology and it's presented so well.

They are good books, my only problem was that they are short of you do a chapter a day, I finished them in 5 months which isn’t a bad thing but for some it might be, it just means that you finish school early.

Going to use this as supplemental for home school. We will use it over several years getting deeper in to subjects as we go. Looks like a fab resource and will save me HOURS of time. I bought the whole set (World History, Ancient History, Science, Math and English). So did two of my fellow home school mom friends. We are all looking forward to using them as part of our curriculum.

Needs improvement. Answers are within each chapter and it's almost impossible to hide them without ruining the book in some way. We use this for homeschool. It would be nice if all the answers were in the back of the book. Cute idea and makes learning a little more fun.

Wonderful series of books for middle schoolers and anyone older that needs a refresher. Laid out in a kid friendly manner that doesn't resemble the dry text book. Much handier than trying to find it online, this BIG FAT NOTEBOOK takes you where you need to be quickly. Teachers approve this series too! I had my grandson take the appropriate book to the appropriate teacher and they all love it too! Well worth the money as this series will serve him thru middle school. I'm really glad a ran across these books and would purchase again. Highly recommend

My 8 year old is obsessed with science and is very excited to have received this one. We have American History and the Math book from this series and enjoy them very much too. Very informative, nice layout, easy to follow but still challenging. He's in fifth grade and it's a wonderful compliment to his classes. Recommended!

This book presents all the major middle school science topics in a very concise way that would be excellent as a resource for students who need a review a topic or want to look ahead and learn at home. It should probably be viewed as a supplemental resource (in addition to lessons or other books), but is an excellent supplemental resource that I highly recommend.

My 3rd grader loves science and is totally into this book. I've flipped through but haven't actually read it myself so I can't really comment on its contents but since my son has received this book, his note taking skills have improved and he's constantly spouting science facts. I love that he's enjoying reading so much!

This book was more then I expected my daughter is in 7th grade and she loved it. She uses it to help her with her homework. All her teachers also loved it and where very impressed so worth it. Will be buying other subjects as well.

I saw this at our local membership warehouse club that starts with a C. They were cheaper there and I fell in love with the whole series! Science, English, World History and US History! I wish my kids were still in middle school so that I would have an excuse to buy them. Yet, I may just buy them for myself :-). They look like they would be a fun supplement for the kids' curriculum in middle school. Very colorful and full of information that is well presented with quizzes and answers at the end.

Just like the format of these books, almost like student notes with hand drawn pictures and things like that. It has questions and answers in each section to reinforce the ideas learned. These will be great reference books for the kids in elementary to jr. high school. Covers all the sciences learned in most public schools.

There is nothing insightful within this. It's all superficial memorization. A fascination with the names of things instead of what things are, why things are, and how things are related to other things, the interaction between those things. This is a waste of Earth's resources.

You come out knowing that there are names for a bunch of things. But you don't know why their significance and why you should care or why you should be interested.

Cannot day enough about this series!
It is not just perfect for middle schoolers. I’m using it for a sophomore as well. It’s that graphic novel type that grabs their attention and makes the most mundane tolerable.
Outstanding!
