This is a book that is not for everyone. This is as true as the fact that Tim Grover's teachings and program are not for every athlete. However, if you are now doing well but want to raise your game or business to another level, you cannot lose reading this book. I recently finished the book and have started reading it again. It is all about getting yourself into a zone of focus and determination to be the best you can be. If you are doing well but know that you have room to improve and grow, Tim Grover shows you the way. This can be a life changing book if you are ready for that change. You will not be disappointed. Thanks Tim Grover for sharing your wisdom and knowledge. You are changing people's lives for the better.

Learning the mindset it will take to succeed is priceless. No one has ever talked about it in the manner Mr.Grover does. Excuses are worthless and selling them to yourself is a waste! Been doing that for the last four years and getting nothing I truly want out of life. I consider myself a closer, but I need to step up my rituals that will help keep me on track for success. Thank you for writing this book that has awaken my dark side that I have always tried to fight, instead of using it to fuel my drive to dominant. Going back into Sales after reading this book. Thanks for the kick in the ass and the tough talk!

Many athletes should hire Tim Grover as a personal trainer. You'll find different nice stories about Kobe, Wade and Jordan although the emphasis on this book is based on the mental aspect of the athlete.

Learn to trust your instincts and gut feeling. Win or lose, it is yours to take. Be persistent, be relentless untill you got the price and set another goal after you achieved the first one. Well, that is my own summary after reading this book. Highly recommended. There is no rule or things to follow. It is ip to you to figure it out. Everything you need is already inside you. Just find ways to get into it.

Many say "I want to be like MJ, Wade, or Kobe," but many never want to pay the price of what it really takes. Tim Grover's "Rentless" gives you the inside track of what it takes. Personally, it made me evaluate where I am, and where I want to be; because being Rentless is a choice. The first choice is choosing to read the book. The second: become Rentless. After all, those who are Rentless come out Cleaner.

Repulsive and amoral. The most self centered personal philosophy I have come across. I wouldn't follow this guy or anyone with this belief system anywhere. It's difficult for me to believe that anyone at this level of success is this selfish. Tim Grover's definition of a "Cleaner" is the absolute counterpoint to true leadership; however, he describes them as having ultimate leadership role/control. I don't care how many rings are on your hand, real leaders put people first, period. Sadly, I believe there are people out there that either aspire to be or already consider themselves "cleaners".

I liked it. There's plenty of cool stories in the book, and great motivational sentences. In my opinion, it is just a bit repetitive. It never really catched me. I will revisit it however, in a few months down the road.

I really wanted to like this book and kept skipping ahead to see if it got any better... it never did. I can summarize the entire book for you:
"I am really tough. I only work with really tough, committed athletes. These athletes trust me to keep their secrets so I can't tell you what I do or how I do it and I cant really tell you anything about our interaction other than what I tell them, which is 'you are really tough and committed and awesome so just go be you.'
This is one long self promotion run-on sentence, with very little substance.

This book seems like it was written as a homework assignment by a high school student. Too much of the "you" reference in the book make it seem like this was definitely the first book this author has ever written. I was very excited to read this book, but disappointed by the quality.

If you're an NBA fan, this book will give you an insight at some of the most amazing players to ever set foot on the court and how they train. You'll be amazed by the work ethic of stars like MJ, Kobe or Wade. This books showed me it takes more than talent to make a champion.
Putting basketball aside, Tim Grover's tactics will help anyone to excel at their particular field of interest.

It's a great book and numerous examples of basketball players giving it their best and Kobe Bryant mentality but he repeats things over and over. A methodology or format of having a strong will would of been great. Other than that I bought his other book ahead , I just hope it's worth it!

If you are a little bit hesitant in life and want to start making the best decisions, then Relentless: From Good to Great to Unstoppable is for you. Tim S. Grover does a brilliant job of helping the reader understand that anyone has it in them to be relentless. All it takes is a mental edge over your competition that Grover helps you dig deep down to find. Nothing in this book is sugarcoated, so be prepared to be offended by some of the advice given. By the end you'll be grateful you read it and will probably continue to open it again and again, as I have. Good luck!

Even if you have read all of the other books on motivating yourself to improve/become great, this is still a must read. The book is written in a very matter of fact manner with practical advice which is immediately applicable. While reading this book you feel as if Tim is standing in front of you talking to you like a coach rather than just an author. Excellent read for the entrepreneur, athlete, or anyone wanting to sincerely reach the top.

I can identify with many attributes Mr. Grover praises but ultimately feel they are not necessarily to be desired. I feel the urge to want to be like his clients Jordan and Wade but at what cost? Seems to me to be a recipe for a sick individual.

This gives you clear understanding of mindset and degree of determination needed to be at the top of your game. What ever your level of play embrace it and see where you can go. Not a book of how to or follow this program but more of how you think and where you need to go to be better. I am inspired by this book. Easy to read but don't blow through it, It must be studied and reviewed often. Worth the money

Before you read the bad reviews...Keep in mind that most people in this world don't/won't/can't function at ultra high levels - whether that be in business or athletics.
If you don't know what it's like to slog it out, you won't understand this book. You'll see 1 star reviews from beta males who think they can read a book and become Kobe. That won't happen, kids.

A fantastic read! I read every chapter with great enthusiasm and i believe that i will come back any time soon to refresh.
Tim really puts it straight that with hard work and dedication, you can taste that feeling of being unstoppable. But how bad do you want to stay there!?

My husband personally trained with Tim Grover back in the 90's during the time when he trained Michael Jordan and as Mr. Grover's clientele has evolved over the years I felt pretty strongly that his book could be very inspirational to any young athlete. I was looking for some books for my 14 year old son to read over the summer months while school was in recess and I came across Tim Grover's book. My son liked the book so well that he decided to read the book for a 2nd time! He's a young basketball player and this book was very encouraging to him. Would highly recommend this book for any young athlete because the mental aspect of the game is equally as important as the physical aspect. Many times that isn't stressed enough and athletes break down under the mental pressure--not because of physical constraints, but because they were challenged mentally and were ill-prepared

This book never finds its stride. I never did figure out whether it was a biography of Michael Jordan (whom the author seems to have a "man crush" on), a bio of Kobe Bryant or his own autobiographical experiences as a PE coach, or a sports psychology motivation book. There are some nuggets of wisdom interspersed, but then Grover keeps lapsing into his mantra that it's alright for Michael Jordan to be a complete pr*** because he dribbles a basketball better than other people. His term "cleaner" for a "relentless" person never resonates. It doesn't reach the iconic lexicon the author seems to be hoping for. It seems like he's watched "Pulp Fiction" one too many times and is completely enamored with Harvey Kytel's character. "Cleaner" just kept reminding me of what Michael Jordan, Kobe et al would work as in the local high school if they couldn't play basketball, since Jordan's only other talent seems to be losing money at casino gambling tables. His pseudo tough-guy vernacular is also contrived and distracting. Trying to come across as some no-nonsense bad a**, using a liberal sprinkling of "f***," "motherf*r," "a-h**," etc., just makes him sounds weak -- kind of like the gym rats who take a "boot camp" fitness class and suddenly think they know what it's like to be in the Marine Corps. Not very professional. But then again, maybe that's how they're teaching PE teachers to talk these days.
The author also talks about the people who know how to get the job done -- the ones who work late at night closing up restaurants, or other bottom-of-the-rung jobs, and work their way up in life, paying their dues, learning life's lessons and going on to be superstars. Fair enough, good lessons to be learned going that route. Yet none of his prima donna heroes did any of that. They got into colleges for free that they didn't have the grades for, got mediocre grades at best while there, and were multi millionaires by the time they were in their early 20s without ever having had a job. Seriously, how hard of a life can that be? But then again, I come from a different background. As a career military officer I've served in six wars over a 30 yr. period. I've seen and served with truly relentless men. Men who keep attacking with bullets in their body, no food in their stomachs, no sleep for days, and still get the job done -- for nothing more than duty, honor, country and a 40-cent ribbon they put on their chest. They are not pampered athletes with 7-figure bank accounts who whine about two-a-day practices. (The horror!) Nor are they complete pr**s to all around them. Now THAT, is Relentless.

More like "From Good to Great to Straight Up SOCIOPATH!" I am truly disgusted, and pretty disturbed, by the things this man says through this book. This is clearly just a way for this guy to get some more money, because this book is nothing more than a continual rant. No structure, no plan, no practicality whatsoever. All he does is go on and on about, essentially, how narcissistic and obsessive he is. And basically, "If you want to be like Kobe or Michael I'd make you do the same. Or else get the heck out of my face because I only deal with 'winners'" AKA people who are willing to be as twisted as he is about winning a freaking game. If you really want to learn how to become relentless, and honorable, don't waste your money on this. Find something else more useful and practical. This so-called book is straight TRASH.

This book is not just good, or great; it's unstoppable. Meaning, it succeeds in its goal without fault: to express the quality of being relentless in individuals. Using a bullet-point format, Tim Grover describes what "Cleaners" are like, who are the best performers in a given profession. He speaks from the perspective of a sports trainer for the likes of Kobe Bryant, Dwayne Wade and Michael Jordan (strangely all are shooting guards).
Don't expect a how-to guide on becoming relentless. Don't expect a book with many examples using science or real-world instances. This book runs like a diary. And it is obviously one perspective from a successful person on the nature of achievers. But I give it 5 stars because it does its job well and because it remains interesting and engaging until the end.

This is a terrific book. Reading it, I felt "understood." Tim Grover doesn't pull any punches and his honesty and candor are refreshing. If you are looking to get a mental edge, you can't do better than this. Tim Grover "gets it." He simplifies what most people try and make complicated. He says that while life can be complicated, the truth is not. Stop listening to everyone else. You KNOW what to do. "Go get some on ya!"

This is a book for those who are wondering how the greatests got to the top. Yes, it talks more about ball players, but you can take the stuff that is in there and make it real into your life, no matter what you do. One thing for sure: you can be unstoppable if you're willing to work hard to get there. There's no other way and Tim Grover shows us that.

For me it was a commendation from a friend... He said it was great but he also told me I was going to say he was unfair just by saying great... I have a business, I have some Cooler, some Closer, and also some Cleaner in me, now I feel like the Cleaner is not as bad as I thought, it is just the way it should :)

This book was highly recommended and I am highly disappointed. It's a lot of rhetoric with no meaning. Very basic form of writing - introduce point, tell story about point, reiterate why point is correct.
In the end, it would rival a motivational seminar given at any holiday inn on any Thursday afternoon.

Although more of running narrative of thoughts from Tim Grover, this book is ultimate resource to understand the relentlessness of the elite athlete. Tim Grover has tapped into what makes the elite athlete tick. He strikes me as the ultimate button pusher.

This was DEFINITELY one of the worst books I've ever read. It was actually painful reading it. The author seems to be living off of the success of some of the athletes who had already made it to the top. Of course he wants to take credit for it and tells you that in a variety of ways about 1,500 times! I'd love to talk to someone who would actually write a decent review for this book. Makes me wonder if many of the reviews aren't fake!? I'm embarrassed for Tim Grover.

I expected this book to provide information on how to go from good to great to unstoppable. It did absolutely noting other that to show amazing feats of strength from his cliental.
The author lists about 13 traits one needs to become unstoppable but doesn't say anything about how to actually attain a single trait. This is perhaps the biggest disappointment I have ever read.
Tim S. Grover....you owe me some money sir.

You can't argue with Grover's credentials. His writing style, and his unflinching willingness to lay out the path to becoming unstoppable, no matter what the area of endeavor, is refreshing. There's no "everybody's a winner" nonsense here. There's no trophy for showing up. It's hard-nosed, but, as anyone who has ever wanted to become unstoppable knows, that's how it is.

I loved this. Yes, it was repetitive, but I do believe the book deserves 5 stars. I've read some other books talking about grit, and being relentless, and the truth is there is no trick to getting it. It helps when you read the stories of other people and the mindset they follow, which is exactly what you'll find in this book.

It does not touch on details why someone is a "cleaner" but rather just uses this attribute as a reason alone of why people are great. Pointless book and a poor read. The continuous use of profanity when obviously not needed made me hate the book more.

I learned that I am 90% Closer, 10% Cleaner... But that 10% I have had my entire life, before there was even a name for it... Nice to know its now a recognized attribute... I know who I am, I thrive on the pressure, and always want to push on...

This book would have been so much better without the 4 letter words. Would have liked my son to read it but we don't think people need to use gutter language to get their point across, so he won't read it. Shame, the title and supposed goal was loft. Sadly, the result was a turn off.
