I absolutely love this series! The way the author brings in and melds so many different beliefs makes for a fun, fast paced read. A friend gave me a couple of these books, I've been filling in the ones between on here. I am in his debt, as I've been in need of a good series to read and this definitely fits the bill!

Thoroughly enjoyable, well-written and well-researched books with an interesting premise. I am more than happy to give Kevin Hearne a 5 star rating in addition to purchasing everything he has published. I hope many others discover the fun adventures of The Iron Druid and a very entertaining cast of characters. However, the reader must jump through a mandatory hoop if you choose to leave a rating. Star ratings are not acceptable on their own. No, any star rating is booby-trapped with the requirement of a written review, further weighted with a minimum word count, no less! Write a review or no stars from you. This is a tad bit bit onerous for the buyer who enjoyed reading the book and respects the author enough to pause and tap some stars. The demand for a written review effectively prevented me from posting the 5 star rating that might encourage others to enjoy an excellent book. This is ultimately unfair to Mr. Hearn, undoubtedly depriving him of many well-deserved 5 star ratings. Guilt eventually caught up with me, so herein lies not only my enthusiastic support of this book, but a bonus review of a misguided policy: to the Kindle folks or whoever came up with this Either/Or toll: lighten up on the needy/greedy gate keeping, already.

I truly enjoyed this installment of the iron druid series. I relished the chance to learn more about his backstory, and had a few of my questions answered such as how there are druid groves throughout the new world. The action in the main storyline did not disappoint either. As always, the comedy was good enough that I kept my asthma inhaler handy.

I love this series and this is another great installment. I read a critique somewhere about slow character development, which is probably valid, but so long as there are many more trials and tribulations for atticus to face I don't really care. If you've read any of the others in this series you pretty much know what you're getting. Keep them coming, can't wait for the next adventure.

An excellent series! This series may not create the emotional investment in the characters that I normally require for a 5 star review, but this series makes up for it by delivering a character in superhero style. If you like hero stories, like Thor, Superman, Spiderman, etc. (With a near immortal and near invincible main character,) you will love this series. It's refreshing to be released from the emotional heaviness and massive drama found in books like Twilight. You read this series to find out how the character wins this time, and what hilarious things are done and said. 5 stars, and I will be reading anything else this author releases.

If you are looking for a real intellectually stimulating read, look elsewhere. If you are looking for action and adventure and what I like to call, "The guy version of Eclipse", then this is a good series to get into. I really like the whole idea of this series... how a druid would actually be pretty bad ass in real life.

Another exciting story of the Iron Druid Chronicles! Great series, protagonist, and bad "guys." I love Hearne's writing, and I couldn't put the book down! Warning: If you haven't read any of the four books, definitely start from the beginning with "Hounded." You'll get much more from the series. I can't wait for the further adventures of Atticus O'Sullivan!

Atticus the Druid is back, along with his trusty and intoxicating apprentice Granuaile, and wolfhound Oberon. This time he's made a less-than-even deal with the Navajo spirit Coyote, and finds himself balancing dangerous old threats against even more dangerous new ones.

Make no mistake, this is an engaging and compelling read. What keeps me coming back to this series is the author's originality and unpredictability. There are no givens in this world: people die, gods die, allegiances shift, and strange, quirky things pop up all over. There is also a heapin' helpin' of offbeat humour to keep you going in the lulls between near-death experiences.

What could put me off this series for good is the excessive space given to Oberon, the dog. Pages and pages are devoted to his preference in sausages and female companionship. In the first book, the concept was new and slightly endearing. It has come to the point of being long, and dull, and dreadfully obnoxious. It has the way of ripping you bodily out of a fascinating world of druid dangers and oddities and plopping you unceremoniously into the nauseous land of terminal cutsey.

This is the fourth book in the series. If you didn't read the other three, don't even think of starting here. There is no effort made in bringing the new reader up to speed, and you'll be hopelessly lost. Get "Hounded" instead, and start there.

I'll give this series one more try, it really has tremendous promise. But if the author would rather entertain himself with endless bits of childish dog-speak, than entertain the paying readers, I'll have to look elsewhere.

Another uber-entertaining read from Kevin Hearne. My wife had to keep pausing the TV every time I broke out in laughter while reading this. His jumps from action/bloody destruction to laugh out loud humor keeps me coming back for more.

Thoroughly enjoyable. Each book only adds to the joyful whole that is the Iron Druid series. Ever since a friend sent me the first one, I have been well and truly hooked.

It is easy to get completely invested in the characters and their lives.

I LOVE this series and all the characters! Awesome development, plots, intricate storylines and insights into the ancient mythological and metaphysical worlds, beautifully done. Entertaining, funny and touching. May the series never end!

Slightly more erudite than just pushing buttons though, or so I'm assuming because I've never gotten into the game playing thing, so I'm giving it a great deal of credit here. But certainly, just as in reading, the imagination can be engaged in whatever you're doing. But this writer gives any nerd with no life everything he could possibly want, written in the first person, a character who is simply superior to every other living creature around, while remaining remarkably modest, he vanquishes even Some in the pantheon of the Gods, that apparently need to be vanquished anyway. His best friend is a dog, with whom, (like everyone else) he has perfect communication and the best and most satisfying relationship. This relationship is only slightly challenged by the relationships he shares with his lawyer (an ancient vampire) and his other lawyer (a werewolf), and all of the Goddesses, or Goddesslike women he finds the time to bed, wilst not slaying bad guys, or preparing to slay them. Creepy right? To only have a dog and 2 morphing monster lawyers as your best friends? Well he's the only true Druid left in the world, and he's ancient, so I guess it's appropriate. Like so much of what's popular nowadays, we are asked to suspend more and more of our disbelief. What's actually true isn't quite fantastic enough for us, I suppose. But hey, don't get me wrong, I'm not dissing the genre. I've long been a huge Sci-Fi fan. I guess I like my Science a little more solid, and my fantasy a little less frilly. But um, I also talked to my dogs a lot too. But they just were never Polyslabs, like this one.

I've churned through all the Iron Druid Chronicles quite quickly - they're fun reads, entertainment - quite similar to Jim Butcher's The Dresden Files. If you liked Harry Dresden you'll probably like Atticus too

Tricked is the fourth book in the Iron Druid Chronicles and in this latest installment, Kevin Hearn has delivered another well-written, well-paced component to a fascinating story arc, there is action, excitement, strong support characters, humor, and a superb plot.

I love all things mythological and the trials of Atticus O'Sullivan add a rich layer this mythology. I especially enjoy the how the author weaves in a myriad of cultures and beliefs that intertwines seamlessly within the Iron Druid world.

Kevin Hearne's work was an extraordinary find for me. I was really pining for another great Urban Fantasy series to fall in love with since the Dresden Files story arc has taken a decided turn into dark fantasy following the excellent but game changing Changes and its subsequent book, Ghost Story. I have found that my urban fantasy curiosity and excitement has been restored with the Iron Druid Chronicles and I hope that Hearne has this series plotted over several more books.

Been on an atticus reading spree. Has to be some of the best dog lovin, tree huggin, god killing stuff yet. It unnerves me how kevin hearne understands and writes the mind of oberon. I smile constantly and laugh often. All you could ask for in a fantasy world.

This book series has gotten me through a long cold winter. This book is a good read, plenty of pace. The dialogue is mature and the characters are likeable. Kevin Hearne better write faster, because I can't wait for the next book.

As much as I loved the other books this definitely disappointed me. This one didn't get me excited for the next chapter. It was almost as if I was reading it just to finish it. The trickery and betrayal in this book was probably the most exciting part about it but other than that it didn't keep me as hooked as the other books, overall I wanted to give it a three stars but Kevin's research on the native tribes and customs deserves a whole star on it's own. I still recommend this book though.

This book is an excellent addition to the books and makes the story line drive along. The story is excellent and how the main character is always making wise cracks breaks up the small amounts of monotony.

I've always liked the Coyote character, and I thoroughly enjoyed this novel and all the mischief he created. You'd think after so many years that Atticus would know better than to trust a Trickster, but then where would be the fun in that?

Awesome book, terrific writer! I read the other three in a weekend and am forcing myself to go slower with this one. It is such a great book though, the language is natural and the characters flushed and complete. Terrific writing.

Kevin Hearne did such a great job with these books. I found myself laughing out loud or reading excerpts to my boyfriend. Have recommended this series to lots of people. Start with the first book and you will be hooked!

I enjoy this series quite a bit. This particular book in the series deals with Coyote and sticking it to the "Man" who is strip mining on reservation lands. Talking to elementals, being chased by irate gods and the interaction of multiple belief systems makes for great reading! I look forward to the next book after "Hunted".

The least interesting of the first four books. Some good moments of back story that bring a bit of needed depth to the saga. I don't see how the bit with the Skinwalkers advanced the story. Hopefully, that will be revealed in the next book.

Once again, Kevin Hearne delivers a hilarious addition to the Iron Druid series. The action is nearly nonstop in this volume, and the humor is omnipresent as usual. I couldn't put the book down until I had devoured every page. I cannot wait for Trapped...

A beautiful apprentice, a wise cracking hound, and a 2100 year old druid...a recipe for an excellent read. Atticus and Oberon, along with Granuile, battle the legendary skinwalkers in the Navajo reservation. Coyote is up to his normal shenanigans, making life rather more complicated for our heroic trio.

Only recently discovered the IRON DRUID CHRONICLES and whipped through them quickly. I particularly enjoy the comments made by Atticus's dog. Looking forward to the fifth book due out the summer of 2013.

Mr. Hearne can write his behind off with a character I think is replacing my fav Chicago wizard. Alot of great scenes in this book, that made me smile, laugh, and hit myself for not writing it first!

The exploits of this 2000 year old Druid in this, the fourth book,is filled with great myth, magic and history, placed in the Arizona desert in present times, tricked by the Coyote and trying to kill shapeshifters with the help of his Druid in training and a Navajo Mystic. Atticus is the true survivalist. This is another winner for Kevin Hearne--Great writing!!!!!!!

Funny and entertaining. Got the first in the series for fathers day. And read the remaining 6 within a couple of weeks. Really likable characters and interesting situations. No teenage romance crap to ruin it.

Kevin Hearne does an amazing job of bringing alive the mythological creatures and stories from long ago. However, I would recommend reading these books in order as there is something that is lost if you don't. If you're a fan of modern day swords and sorcery this series is for you.
