Where Women Learn the Secrets of Making Husbands Happy (Genie School Trilogy Series for Women) (Volume 1)

Review:I bought this book last year, thought it was great, but didn't really put the readings into practice. I've since re-read it, but this time around I've been keeping up with the journal, and been following along with the online course and I have to say the accountability (for me) has been helping immensely. There are some points of like to make : the good, the bad, and the ugly.
The good:

This book provides invaluable advice. That is the bottom line. It is scriptural - we as human beings... Read more

The Book of Myself A Do-It-Yourself Autobiography In 201 Questions

Your Life Story in Your Own Words - A Mother's Legacy
Your Life Story in Your Own Words - A Mother's Legacy

Review:Not very personal. Like answering questions in a lame interview for a stranger who doesn't really want to know you. After I saw the father version featured on TV, I was expecting something more in depth where I could really express my hopes and lessons I had learned to my child when she got older. I think this is boring, and I have no interest in writing in it. I'm sure she would have little interest in reading it when the time came. Read more

And Other Stories from a Child Psychiatrist's Notebook--What Traumatized Children Can Teach Us About Loss
And Other Stories from a Child Psychiatrist's Notebook--What Traumatized Children Can Teach Us About Loss

Review:My wonderful caring school principal recommended this book to the staff as we have a population that is rather heavily burdened with poverty and other stresses. The book details the lives of several children, their histories and what Dr. Perry did to treat each child. What is incredible is the effect of poverty, neglect and abuse on the brain development. You need to read this if you work with children or parent them.... Read more

The Aftermath of Violence--From Domestic Abuse to Political Terror
The Aftermath of Violence--From Domestic Abuse to Political Terror

Review:The subject matter is hard to read about in large doses but the
information is very very helpful and clear. It helped me see the issue
from the victims point of view.

Much of the info is distressing...our society is shown as self protective
and without compassion.

Not for idle reading but very helpful if one is suddenly put in a place
to help and understand the effects and recovery process. Read more
