Review:My best friend, April told me about this book "Marisa, you're got to read this, this will nock your socks off". I love the Kayta. Kayta is a sexy film star from the 1920's. Kayta and her agent are in Europe and the by some stuff that is haunted by a Count. Years later actor, Todd stays in the old house that Kayta used to live when she was alive.
I don't want to wirte anymore, The reader has to read the book because its so sexy. It makes "50 Shades of Gray" look the bible. I did enjoy readi... Read more
Review:I have followed all the Chronicles of Thomas Covenant with great interest. Stephen R. Donaldson is a very literate writer; one of the things I have heard of him is that he is a perfectionist in his writing, wanting to make sure every detail fits. It shows. The storylines hang together, and there are few inconsistencies visible to the naked eye. The Land is magical, and the people in it are vivid - sometimes (and often) more real than the real world outside of Covenant's dreams. The Last Dark is ... Read more
Review:Writing a story of the southern culture of 1940's, seems to have persisted to this day. The anger of haves and haves not, power and lack of power, and the want to gain power to keep the same system. Brilliant writing, thoughtful character building and identification. It was written in1940 but can be placed in a southern town today. Believable. Read more
Review:The book begins nicely but then it just bogs down. Three quarters of the book is spent in this city... way too boring. I was getting as frustrated as the characters in the book. Come on, Terry, get to the point. I hate to admit it but it seems that the book could have half the amount of pages. You get the weird feeling that they are milking this series into four books instead of three. Read more
Review:I read the Everyman's Library Glenny Translation.
This is a mixture of the bizarre and the familiar. The writing itself is a bit of both, the story subject is a bit of both and the characters are a bit of both. I thoroughly enjoyed the 'flashbacks' and almost wish the whole story was just those events, but I also enjoyed the chaotic and seemingly random way the modern part of the story developed, not that I even fully understood it all, mayhaps a second read is in order. It is not a di... Read more

Review:I have been reading the Pendergast books since Relic came out. I have been pestering my parents to read these books ever since. For my father's birthday last year, I finally broke down and sent them the audiobooks to get them started. Now they are both hooked. Brimstone is probably my favorite book in the series, and my mother is reading it now. we check in every morning to see where she is in the story. I have loved these books and the characters have become friends in my quiet moments. N... Read more

Review:Sticks to the Burning Legion timeline. Adds the Deming Hunter twist and the plot ability to turn Illidan into a future ultra good guy.
Overall a good read. I take a star away because I felt it focused to much on Maiev and her vengeance. Which again... we all know from Burning Legion and a previous book. Read more
Review:I was very impressed by this delving into the distant past of the Star Wars universe and the beginning of the two Sith Lords era. I also went back and re-read my Star Wars: Jedi vs. Sith comic series, which ties in nicely with this book. I didn't follow the comics well when they first came out a number of years ago, but this novel really clears things up. I highly recommend reading the comics after the novel to help fill in around the edges. I'm looking forward to the next Sith Lord novel! Read more
