Review:Freedom is a pretty good sequel to Daemon, the first book by Suarez. However, it is not the best book I have ever read hence the 3 stars. The ending is predictable and the author just pulls out technology to fix whatever problem the people run into. The book makes some philosophical points but doesn't fully explore them. Not bad for a 2nd book. Read more
Review:I got hooked almost right away with this story and couldn't pull myself away. I ended up reading it all in one night. Stayed up way past my bedtime to finish it. Lots of action. Only con, everyone seemed to moan a lot. Read more
Review:It was like reading in a circle. The same things kept happening, just with different people...fight, hunt, be betrayed, fight, hunt, be betrayed. Trust someone a little, only to find out they were working for the bad guys. The book ended where it started...her father getting away with her son AGAIN. I mean HOW many times can you fight and have the same ending? Seriously, it was ridiculous. Her father kept getting the kid back...EVERY single time, no matter how many times he escaped. I'm f... Review:Although I figured out who the bad guy was pretty early in the book, it was still a good read. I have not read any of the other books in the series, so my opinion may be even better once I do read the rest of the books in the series. Read more
Review:I have read the four books leading up to "Personal Justice" and truly ennoyed each one and looked forward to the next one. The plot of this book was good until the resolution. I found myself saying "are you serious!" and, frankly I lost all respect for Kadella and don't care if I ever read another book about him. Read more
Review:After reading this book, and my experiences with past Clancy books, it makes it hard for me to believe that he doesn't still live on through these adventures. There is Clancy on every page and I rated all his books with five stars. A spell binding read. Read the entire book in two days. Couldn't put it down. (I read electronically with my Kindle fire!) Review:You have got to love Tubby! Funny and loveable. He helps a woman he hardly knows find her son for two pralines as a retainer. His idea of justice doesn't always fit the letter of the law, but I'm on his side! Read more
Review:The first several chapters were engrossing: a clever plot device, beautifully delineated characters and a crisp writing style. However, this book is nominally SF, and the author's absolute lack of understanding of any of the "science" in this work of fiction became more and more irritating. An interstellar vessel powered by sails? Which gather electricity? The slurs on the good names of physiology/medicine, computer science/A.I., and cognitive science were equally egregious. How hard would it ha... Read more
Review:Lots of good characters and some surprises. I. Like the way the author thinks. Straight forward writing. the scene runs through the minds eye easily. I will check for another book by Paul Levine soon. Read more
Review:This book is unreadable. It's divided into multiple short chapters, probably because the authors can't develop characters, actions or settings of any greater length. That's a blessing because the writing is atrocious. Lee Child writes so well that I am left wondering if he actually read this dreck. He should be embarrassed to have recommended it.
