Thrillers
Review:As an aviation thriller, which is what one might presume from the way it's presented, it's pretty light on the 'aviation.' Flying is involved, but there's no you're-in-the-cockpit-turning-and-burning flying sequences; this is a spy vrs spy story which happens to involve an airline as a plot device.
As an espionage thriller, it's competent, but that's all I can really say about it. It livened up a bit at the end, which I appreciated. Overall, it just wasn't truly gripping. No real gravitas... Read more
Review:From what I understand from other reviewers, this is a departure from Follett's usual fare. Since this is the only novel of his that I've read, I can't compare it to previous books of his. Follett takes quite a bit of time developing his characters and setting the scene for this story, so it really doesn't get going until about the halfway point. From then on, it's a fast paced and entertaining read. The setting is Scotland at Christmas. A deadly virus is stolen from a research lab. The pr... Read more
Review:This was an excellent story to read and the characters were developed very nicely. I really enjoyed the overlap of true history and a fantasy that seemed to be so possible. The story moved very quickly and was definitely breathtaking and thrilling. I like the way Phil writes and will definitely be considering other books he has written. Read more
Review:These aren't classics for nothing but be warned if you have a low tolerance for bees in authors' bonnets - Chesterton has an agressive one about his dedicated Catholicism and it can wear a little thin due to sheer repetition. Most of these stories have at least one pointed exchange about it and his biting satires of groups with different ideas don't exactly come off as even-handed. That said, i just read these stories two or three at a time so i don't miss out on these ingenious mysteries. Read more
Review:When you open this book, be prepared for something like pushing your car to the limits on a winding road! Fast-paced twists and turns all the way to the last page! I can feel Gregg's familiarity with real people in real situations in his well developed, interesting characters; it's easy to keep track of them and the parts they play. And the true-crime, non-fiction, real-life, no-ending ending is exactly what I'd expect and what we'll probably find to be "classic Gregg Olsen" style. "Write on... Read more
Review:The pages flew by in this page turner. Jack stumbles onto a Big case that involves child kidnapping. It leads to nowhere you would have thought. Great plot, excellent characters, and moving situations. Read more
Review:A recommendation from another author...
Bobby Adair. Good call. This book was great! Real life characters. This is a story that could happen.
Looking forward to my preordered book. Excellent read. Read more
Review:The story about the trial was good. Unfortunately, the author included a lot of religious content. It started out as a little bit that went with the story but by the end, it was as much as the actual story. I found it off-putting and found myself skipping those pages. It also took away from the story about the trial and finding the guy who did it. Read more

The title of your book intrigued me. I always looked forward to opening the boxes! One Christmas, the gifts I
received were like your story boxes, each one had an emotional tie, and all were different. The way your story revolves around Vermont and your characters make your book an excellent read,as well as the mystery to solve seals the deal! I'm looking forward to reading your next book! Read more
Review:In my experience, any of the novels by the Preston/Child duo are incredibly good. Some books are better than others, of course, but that's a matter of personal taste. I'll definitely be re-reading the books by this team of writers. Read more
