Review:This is a completely delightful book and I know the 4-yr old giftee will love it. Humorous, wonderfully illustrated and with twists that surprised this oldster! I've been buying Amazon 5-star-rated picture books for many Christmases and have never been so happy with a selection as today. Also, the video of how to draw a moose is a stitch, don't miss it! Review:I love this book! The story is heartwarming and easy for the very young to read and understand, and it is enjoyable for all ages. The illustrations are beautiful and encourage easy conversation about the subject of friendship. Definitely 10 Stars! Read more
Review:My son loves nothing more than books that offer flaps that reveal items. In fact, we've never seen a 9-month old react so well to "Dear Zoo". So we though this was the perfect book to learn more about body parts. Unfortunately the quality of the book was awful. After two readings the flaps starting falling apart (this wasn't even my son's doing!). Then all of the other flaps just began to come off just by lifting them up and down. Even if the flaps were working I couldn't recommend this book to ... Read more
Review:Beautiful! Kept me and my niece quite busy this summer...I'll order one for her to have at home...I suspect my brother will be enjoying it as well. Makes a great gift if you add a nice set of colored pencils and the appropriate sharpener. Read more
Review:I absolutely love Divya Srinivasan's illustrations!
We purchased this after "Little Owl's Night" was such a hit with our 1.5 year old. We're always on the lookout for books that he loves, AND that we enjoy reading with him (there are some very annoying kids books out there, that I shamefully admit I don't want to read when my toddler brings them to me). I'll happy read Little Owl's Day over and over again, though - the illustrations are lovely, and the story is easy to read (or make up yo... Read more
Review:Pinkalicious and the Pink Drink is a precious story about a sassy girl doing her best to make money for some gum balls. It is another great book in the Pinkalicious series, and I enjoyed reading it to my daughter in her early elementary days.
What I disliked: Nothing. I am very biased and love this line.
What I liked: I love the colors, vibrancy and problem solving of this book. Pinkalicious wants to purchase gum balls, she works hard to earn the money, and after ... Read more
Review:Brain Games features five chapters worth of mind-bending games, challenges, puzzles, and fast facts designed to explore the limits of the human brain. Among the contents covered in the book include an overview of how your brain turns senses into thoughts; how the brain makes memories; how the brain deals with emotions; how the brain makes decisions; and, how the brain directs the body’s movement.
Within each chapter there are a number of sections, each beginning with a challenge (e.g., “... Read more
Review:I purchased this for my niece for Christmas. She is a miniature Jane Goodall in the making, although she has taken up the cause for rhinos. I read through it before I gave wrapped it and it was very interesting and I learned a lot from it! Read more
Review:This is a great book to introduce counting and numeracy with young children. I add rubber ducks to the bath and incorporate many math concepts using the ducks as manipulatives. It starts with the book and ends in the water. Read more
Review:It had large letters for beginning readers and after that it didn't seem to really have anything to catch a child's attention. I didn't notice any errors, but so much was focused on a ball of different sizes and whether or not it was moving. "This is a ball." "This ball is not moving." *Picture of a big ball*-"More Mass." *Picture of a small ball*-"Less Mass." Very thin book with tons of waster space and honestly offers the equivalent amount of information that could be found in a dentist office... Read more
