The 90-Day Program to Stop and Reverse Heart Disease
The 90-Day Program to Stop and Reverse Heart Disease

Review:I am very health conscious, and was most disgusted with Dr. Chauncey’s recommendation to take vitamin supplements especially Vitamin C. Linus Pauling’s recommendation to take vitamin C supplements was disproven my medical research-something Pauling never investigated. Research proved Vitamin C supplements does not prevent cancer, but it actually causes cancer. Read Pandora’s Lab. I do agree that walking is a beneficial health activity, but eat a vegetarian diet to get your vitamins and minerals. Read more

Let's Take the Long Way Home - A Memoir of Friendship
Let's Take the Long Way Home - A Memoir of Friendship

Review:This memoir was not compelling or revealing. I had expected more given the general reader and editorial reviews and the fact that Caldwell is a Pulitzer winner for criticism. Who would guess that someone who reads, analyzes, and writes about the quality of the writing of others would put together such a dull and evasive memoir? The most I can say for the writing is that it was grammatically sound.

There were surely elements of Caldwell and Knapp's lives that would have been fascinating... Read more

The Mind's Eye
The Mind's Eye

Review:I hesitated between three and four stars, but decided to give it four. I have read everything Oliver Sacks has ever written, and _Seeing Voices_ is one of my favorite books. However, I found this book less engaging than nearly all of his previous works. I enjoyed the new case studies, but I felt somehow that I had already read the same information in his previous books. The exception to this is his first-person narrative of his own experience with his changing sight, which was a somewhat jarring... Read more

Healing Psoriasis: The Natural Alternative
Healing Psoriasis: The Natural Alternative

Review:This book is extremely helpful and easy to comprehend. I am personally struggling with the diet- wine and nightshades are my biggest obstacle. However, I do notice a significant difference in my arthritis pain levels and skin's appearance when I stick to the regimen. I would recommend this book for anyone struggling with psoriasis. If you have the commitment and want to really try to overcome psoriasis, then I would absolutely try this diet plan. Read more

How Real Food Transforms Your Life - More Gorgeous You

Review:I enjoyed learning Tia's struggle with her health and how her love for food help heal her body. I'm enjoying reading this book because of the recipe as well. I have been recently diagnosed with Gastroparesis and I need to learn how to make some tasty recipes, but this book, will be more for my family and not me. I would have preferred her to give us a little more of the non meat recipes. I am a meat eater, but would like to learn how to cook some foods that are still tasty but without meat. At t... Left Neglected
Left Neglected

Review:Lisa Genova's new book "Left Neglected," about a multitasking superwoman and guilt-ridden mother, who was transformed in an unguarded instant into a `Left Neglect patient,' is, in my opinion, even better than "Still Alice." I know a lot about hemineglect; I did my PhD on it way back in the early 1980s when only a handful of researchers were studying it and publishing articles about it, and since then have published and written about it often, including cases in my books, and have supervised stud...
