Review:PEAKS AND VALLEYS
by Spencer Johnson
Spencer Johnson, billed as "The king of parables" by USA TODAY, has
long been one of my favorite authors . . . his ONE MINUTE MANAGER,
co-authored with Ken Blanchard, helped revolutionize my thinking about
management, and his ONE MINUTE FATHER helped me become
a better parent.
His latest, PEAKS AND VALLEYS, is the story of a young man
who lives unhappily in a valley until he meets an old man
who lives on a peak . . . this en... Read more
Review:The reviews here give a pretty accurate description of this book. Stewart is a very engaging writer and rarely gets bogged down in irrelevant details or pointless digressions. He is a writer any journalist would want to emulate.
However, the big drawback is that he is too negative and seems and makes it seem that Wall Street serves no function other than to make the richer richer. In fact, junk bonds and hostile takeovers can have significant benefits for the economy. Furthermore, Mil... Read more
Review:Amy shares her vulnerability and the steps she took to overcome tremendous challenges in her life. As I read through many of the things on the list I find myself nodding my head over and over as I can identify so closely with much of what she says.
The book includes tips and ideas for overcoming habits that might be holding you back. I was honored to interview Amy on our podcast and find her very authentic and passionate about her work. Read more
Review:An easy and inspiring read. Jon's thoughtful humor throughout the book not only made the book enjoyable, but helped to drive home so many lessons along the way. If you've started...and started...and started, but struggle with actually finishing, then this book is exactly what you're needing. If nothing else, you'll finish this book which will only help to motivate you to finish your other goals you've been putting off. Honestly, this book is a MUST READ for anyone. Read more
Review:This book is just "OK" by me. Interesting but nothing of exceptional value if you use your head a bit. These thoughts in the book are only things that we don't think about so it is a good reminder. Read more
Review:This book has truly inspired me and has allowed me to see things in a whole new light. I was given a copy of this book to read 4 months ago and it has truly changed my entire thinking pattern. I no longer have a grim outlook on life. I find myself living my life more joyously and realizing the potential I have within and I truly thank this book. I truly recommend this book! Read more
Review:There are a million tricks out there on the Internet. If you took a look at the number of authors and motivational speakers, and what their message was, you'd find that most of them are based more on their style of dogmatism. In this book, Mel didn't just come up with this rule out of the blue: she did research with different facilities to find out how it works. In this book, she does start with the easy basics of the 5-second rule, which is before major decisions, take a breath and count dow... Read more

Review:So much clarity with different aspects of my life after reading this book. If you are stuck with what is next for you and want to find clarity with your life I highly recommend this book. I have read many other self help, personal development/growth books, but this is simple to follow and not overwhelming. Loved this book so much that i even signed up for Platform University and his work has helped me. Thanks for all that you do Michael Hyatt!!!! Read more
Review:Disappointing, out of touch with reality, and uninspired! How on earth is selling someone else's stuff considered a "next level idea" while selling your own products is deemed a "starter idea" by the author. This book understates the effort and time required to carry out a successful side hustle and over-estimates the likelihood of success. The suggested ideas are weak and lack creativity, making me cringe at times.
These five-star reviews must be the doing of side hustlers.
