Review:Well, I toughed it out and finished this thing. I have a serious problem with not being able to put a book down if I don't like it - I NEED to finish it, it's a compulsion. Before I hit 100 pages I knew I wanted to put this down, but no. Here we are.
This story started off as a cute 4 stars. I was enjoying it, it was easy and light. But then Sky started getting a little crazy. Then Dylan started going a little stalkerish. Then Sky got worse. Then Dylan. This was a whirlwind of messy, unne... Read more
Review:I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC copy of this book.
Oh wow!!! Aubrey Irons is one of the best authors out there and Beautiful Beast is proof of that. This is a love story that's not sweet or romantic in the least. It's harsh and angry and messed up in so many ways, but it sucks you in and holds on, just won't let go of you. Bastian and Ana have a history that goes back to their childhood. He's the spoiled young son of the extremely wealthy man who employees Ana's father. When ... Read more
Review:Lies get you nowhere in life, as Mindy soon found out. In comes Oliver to save the day, but neither one is prepared for the outcome! A light hearted romance you've got to read. BTW, just warning you, Grandma is a hoot! Read more
Review:Bentley Wellington's grandfather has just demanded he spend thirty days with someone from his past. A woman he loved. A woman he abandoned when she needed him most. A woman who was his best friend. A woman who is now a recluse who lets no one in. Should be easy, right?
Margot McCleery could live forever never seeing the man who broke her heart again. She's watched him in the papers. Womanizer, man-whore, jerk. Thanks to her grandmother and a charity auction, he's at her door, and three days h... Read more
Review:Jane has her hands full running the family cleaning business and taking care of her two sisters. As they prance around jumping from party to party, she is left to keep them together and make sure they have food in the kitchen and a roof over their heads, despite the fact that all three are grown adults.
Brock isn’t sure how this became his life, but suddenly finds himself on the auction block, with marriage rumored to be part of the deal. He hasn’t had the time or inclination to settle do... Read more
Review:Told in third person from dual perspectives, The Bachelor Contract is a sexy & surprisingly emotional contemporary romance. This second chance romance is a steady read, perfect for the hopeless romantic in all of us. Full of heartfelt strong friendships & family bonds, witty & sarcastic banter. These characters struggle to overcome gut-wrenching loss, “After, we were nothing, we were too broken, too damaged.” sadness, grief, guilt, broken hearts & “…anger. At her. At himself. At ... Review:I am never disappointed in any of her books. When you find great authors - you always follow their books. One of my favorites is how they put humor in with mystery. Memorable characters in her books. The best of times is when you have the honor of finally meeting them in real life. Read more
Review:First, on a positive note, the author writes in a fast paced style which is very enjoyable. Also, I wasn’t able to predict the ending ( primarily because it was so ridiculous). In fact, the whole premise of the book was ridiculous. It is not revealing too much to say that the criminal was just asking to be caught when he/she started posting photos in the newspaper of unsuspecting subway passengers for an online “dating” site-. Did he/she want to get caught? Sometimes originality in the plot does... Read more
Review:THE ONE-WAY BRIDGE is Cathie Pellletier's first novel in six years. Fans have been eagerly waiting for this new addition to the literary mélange of summer books. The One-Way Bridge is in Mattagash, Maine, and is the only way into and out of town. Over the years, an informal rule evolved that the one on the bridge or the one arriving at the bridge has the right of way.
Mattagash is an insular town at the northernmost piece of land in Maine. It is populated by the usual eccentrics and has i... Read more
Review:Started this after reading the reviews on both books. Struggled through the beginning (15% on the Kindle) and decided to skip to the middle. Took about 2 sec to figure out what I didn't read and catch up. There are only so many mysteries in the world of writing. Plodding prose and flat characterization just kills any desire I might have to read a novel. I'm really disappointed in this one. Read more
