Women's Fiction
Review:Hannah writes from my heart, capturing the emotional mother-daughter stuff beautifully - in spite of the inevitable pain it delivers. Fabulous story of daughters reuniting with the mother that they believed abandoned them. Read more
Review:I love Kristin Hannah's style of writing, that being said...Distant Shores was not a favorite. The story, in my opinion, did not flow as nicely as her other novels. The characters were dull and very predictable. Read more
Review:This is a fascinating book. The hard times that the family experienced were hard to read. I was amazed at the resiliency of the mother and daughter but appalled by the mother's devotion to her husband despite his treatment of her. The descriptions of the Alaskan wilderness is beautiful. Review:This book was okay, but not "unputdownable" as one person described it--for me, anyway. I thought there were too many coincidental meetings and happenings. There were a couple of surprise plot twists, but mostly predictable. Read more
Review:If I had based my review on the characters alone, especially for the first quarter of the book, I would have hated it. There was a love triangle . . . or actually a love square and a whole lot of insta love. Winona hated her sister for dating a guy (Luke) that she was in love with, despite the fact that neither Vivi Ann, nor Luke, even knew about Winona's feelings. Vivi Ann agrees to marry Luke even though she doesn't love him and of course she begins cheating on him with the new ranch hand, Dal... Read more
Review:This is the fourth Kristin Hannah book that I have read and I equally enjoyed all of them! I am hooked on this author because, the books catch my interest right from the start. It's like getting lost in the book, as if I am a part of it and I don't want to finish them! Read more
Review:The book was good, easy read, but there were some predictable story lines and I wish the ending was different. I think that it was a little unbelievable the relationship between the main character and the child...especially if she has so much practice and history in the field...she would know not to get so attached.
I think it's a good story about family and the shapes that family can come in, extended, tight, wild, harsh, and above all loving. Read more
Review:Once again Kristin Hannah has captivated my attention. I rarely even read the synopsis of her books these days because after the first two or three books I realized that I am never disappointed. I've read most of her books and it's always true. You can't go wrong reading this book or any other Kristin Hannah book. Read more
Review:Who can write comedy like it is nobody's business, Tara Sivec that's who... I have loved everything this woman has written and have yet to be disappointed, she can write mystery, she can write emotional but it is her comedic style of writing that has me coming back every time she says she has a new book coming out. I can clearly state she is and will always be my go to author, no matter what situation she has a one liner to go with it, and that is why I love her so!!! Read more
