Review:Kindle version: The charts are not formatted so that they can be viewed. Even using the largest typeface option, the charts are so tiny as to be useless. As another reviewer noted, the book may have some useful diet suggestions, but it is presented as an exercise in "rambling irrelevance".
I was looking for helpful information that would assist making positive changes in my diet. The author goes on and on about something none of us could have any working knowledge about: early mankind's ... Read more
Review:Never thought healthy food could taste this good. This book is for those who have trouble staying trim. Great information from Dr. John McDougall and great recipes from Mary McDougall. Try the vegetable chilli, (tip I rinse canned beans to make it easier). Other favorites are "Fried" Rice and the oriental salad. This book is well worth getting and sharing. Read more
Review:I purchased this book after visiting Dr. McDougall's web site. Actually, almost all of the information in this book can be found at his web site, so if you are looking for new recipes or other information not posted on his site, this is not the book for you. You might want to buy something else, a newer book or DVD. This book outlines his recommended diet and lifestyle for optimal health including the rationale for avoiding certain foods and including others - basically avoiding all animal pr... Read more
Review:After watching the documentary "Forks Over Knives" we changed our eating habits. We needed to find recipes our whole family would enjoy and with young children (ages 7 and twins 5) would not take too long to prepare. The recipes are easy to follow and our kids have liked everything (so far!). There is a lot of great information and helpful tips as well. I wish there were pictures...but other than that, this was a great purchase! A+ :) Read more

Review:There is something particularly gratifying when an American born and raised child of immigrant parents adopts as her mission the continuation of the culinary traditions of her family's homeland. Debbie Matenopoulos' "It's All Greek to Me" is an outstanding manifestation of such an effort.
Having grown up in Chicago, where I was fortunate to have easy access to the myriad restaurants in the city's Greek Town, I have long been partial to Greek food. It was the driver behind more than one tr... Read more
Review:This book is absolutely genius. If you are looking for a slow cooker book, you really need look no further than the Great American Slow Cooker Book. First, each recipe is adapted for three sizes of slow cookers. So no matter what size cooker you have, you can make each recipe without trying to figure out the proportions yourself. I've never seen that feature in any other slow cooker book I've read.
The best part about this book, though, is that all of the recipes use real ingredients. You... Read more
