Cooking Methods
Review:I have always enjoyed Megan's recipes and when the chance came to be an official recipe tester, I couldn't wait to start cooking. After 8 weeks of about 9 recipes per week I found myself making most of the delicious meals many more times!! The recipes are easy to understand, most are quick to prepare, and all of them are yummy blends of tastes and textures. Totally looking forward to getting my book which I pre-ordered and it should be here any day. Thank you Megan! Job well done:-) Read more
Review:The book I received had all the information I was looking for. I liked the title itself. However, I paid around $7 for the book and the vendor didn't bother to take the $2 garage sale sticker off the front which was a little disheartening. The condition of the book was not great either. Review:Curtis Stone is such a sensible, modern cook who creates delicious and nutritious meals and this cookbook does not disappoint. Beautifully photographed. Many approachable, realistic recipes inside. (Some cookbook authors must not live in the real world, but Curtis does and it shows in this cook book.) It makes me want to cook to look at the recipes inside. Read more
Review:I really like this book. It has dozens of recipes for a ketogenic diet that are tasty and practical, and without a lot of exotic ingredients. Great everyday cooking. I have only tried a few so far but they have been great. And it has given me a springboard for ideas to create my own dishes. Don't hesitate to buy this if you are trying to adhere to a keto or low carb lifestyle. Read more
Review:Everything I anticipated and more. Deb Perelman is a born story-teller. She puts you in charge of your kitchen by showing/telling how to pull off culinary magic. Everything I have tried so far has been spectacular, with the exception of the popcorn cookies. That was my fault. The popcorn I used wasn't great quality and it showed in the finished product.
Nice photos, great explanations, fun anecdotes.
This book is going to stay in my best-loved cookbook rack for a long time! Read more
Review:I am very disappointed in this book. It is misleading to show pictures of a recipe but yet there are no pictures of the recipes included in the book. Even the Beef stir fry recipe that was used in the description didn't have pictures of it in the book! This is a very basic beginner recipe book that spends time describing cooking tools. For example, a cooking sheet! I would consider this a beginner cookbook but with the lack of pictures I feel it would be frustrating to use. No new ideas for reci... Read more
Review:This book is fabulous! I have already made four recipes from it, and, seriously, once you understand what you're doing the cook-time is on average under 30 minutes. I love how straightforward, clear, and direct Roman is in her instructions. She really lets you know what things can be switched out or changed up and what things you really should put in a little extra effort to make or stock in your kitchen. I feel like I'm learning techniques to expand my cooking skills and not just recipes. If yo... Read more
Review:Thomas Keller is the number one chef in this country. Having had the experience of eating at French Laundry and, myself, graduating from Cordon Bleu, this book could not be better. The recipes are wonderous and the photography is amazing. NOT a book for beginners! But hell, after you've mastered the kitchen reward yourself with this book! Read more
Review:Great cookbook, nice quality & always like a cookbook with photos. The recipes are perfect for anyone wanting healthy recipes, Megan's are excellent, easy and by far the best. I'm trying to eat cleaner, eat fresh foods, a little bit Paleo and a lot of anti-inflammatory choices and this book has all of that. If there is a recipe that I can't consume I can usually tweak it to fit my food preferences but that is mostly flours and certain grains so I just pass over those...there are so many ex... Read more
Review:Rebecca Katz has outdone herself this time! The Healthy Mind is full of pages of recipes, including soups, desserts, main dishes and snacks that are accessible, doable, and delicious. (Not at all like the many cookbooks on my shelves that I turn to for one or two recipes.) All you need is a piece of salmon or cod and a bunch of kale, or some carrots. Being them home, pull out the book and you are set to go. No planning ahead required as the other ingredients are already in the pantry. Did I m... Read more
