Review:Any collection of Connelly books is worth a read- emotional with clever plots, believable stories about the inside workings of poltically sensitive police/detective precincts. Bosch is clever, tough, independently minded but flexible as only an experienced investigator can be who does not care about what is politically correct. So often is seems as if Bosch has backed himself into a corner, only to finagle his way out, kinda legally! Read more
Review:This book contains 3 short Harry Bosch stories. One story is written when Harry is working on cold cases but reaches back to when he first started in law enforcement as a street cop. I enjoyed all 3 stories, even though they are really short and am anxiously awaiting the next Harry Bosch book. I love this character! Read more
Review:Disabled FBI profiler Terry McCaleb is two months into recovery from a heart transplant, when he is presented a case that he cannot refuse, despite his doctor's dire warnings about risks to his health. Graciela Rivers, the attractive sister of his donor Gloria, has discovered through a "Where are They Now?" newspaper feature that McCaleb has to be the recipient of the heart, and furthermore may have the expertise to reinvigorate the investigation of her sister's killing in a convenience store ho... Review:Looking for proof that Michael Connelly is the best mystery novelist today? The Narrows is evidence enough. On a very simple level, this is a mystery novel about a serial killer, "The Poet," and at least 14 murders attributed to him in this current wave of mayhem. It's also about a complex ex-LAPD homicide detective, Harry Bosch, and a frustrated FBI Behavioral Sciences Unit reject agent, Rachel Walling. The characters are complex, conflicted, believable, and stretched beyond what is expected bu... Read more
Review:I've read all of Dugan series. I bought them individually. This is a great series. McDermott writes an exciting story with great characters. It's clear that he knows what he's talking about--the research is evident. The thrills revolve around commercial shipping, which provides a different and welcome change from the more typical thrillers. Read more

Review:The more I read, the more intrigued I became by the process, assumptions, mistakes, in trying to solve a crime. That I became involved in the whole thinking process as events unfolded was a journey to the truth well traveled along with Bosch. Read more
Review:I almost fell for the negative reviews and passed on this one. What a mistake it would have been. After having read all other published works it was just right as a fill in before the release The Drop. Read more

Review:I was somewhat forced to endure the pain of listening to the audio version of this book while on a long road trip. I hated it form the very start. The prologue was stupid and useless. The central story kept being lost by forced secondary stories that once they had achieved their simple goal were left hanging (not that I was at the end of my seat waiting for their resolution). I hated the characters - all of them.
I get angry from just remembering the stupid, annoying character voices and... Read more
