Review:i bought this book because I wanted to learn how to eat healthier and improve some problems i have with my digestion. So far, I have tried the Winter Digestive tea (now a habit of every night after dinner), Winter Rejuvenating tonic, Huevos Rancheros (among our top recipes to cook!), Warming tomato dal, everyday creamed grain cereal, and ghee fried apples. The ghee is the only recipe that i also needed to look for a video to make sure i did it correctly. i also enjoyed making my own Sweet Spices... Read more
Review:I've tried many of Melissa's non InstantPot recipes and most have turned out fantastic and so I really was looking forward to this. I was a bit disappointed. Of the 15 or so different recipes that I have so far tried, many of them were off. You would think that in a controlled cooking environment like the InstantPot, it would be relatively easy to achieve consistency, but many of the recipes were lacking in some form. There were a couple recipes that seem to miss whole steps - omitting key step... Read more
Review:Years ago I bought Wild Fermentation and I loved Sandor's accessible approach to fermentation. He really does take the fear out of fermentation. Even though I had been fermenting for well over two decades I was inspired to ferment a wider variety of foods. The Art of Fermentation has inspired me to continue experimenting in the kitchen. And as Sandor points out fermentation is closely tied to the grassroots food movement. I am certain that this book will inspire many others to not only ferment b... Read more
Review:I was surprised at how diverse this cookbook was, in that it had vegetable cooked in such a variety of ways and the best part is it went into detail on the vegetables and how best to prepare them.
Great ideas for meatless meals, suggestions on side dishes to accompany the meal.
Great add to my collection Read more
Review:I love this book it has changed my entire approach to eating. Heidi is a vegetarian and I am not but I have cut back on the amount of meat I intake each week and don't miss it at all because these recipes are so well rounded in flavor and unique flair Read more
Review:With an in-depth look into vegetarianism that spans over three chapters, as well as three extremely helpful chapters that give tips on making the change to and maintaining a vegetarian life. Flushed out with a heft seven chapters of of recipes, none of which are too overly complicated and all sound delicious, especially the chapter on vegetarian desserts. But the chapter on condiments is probably the most beneficial and interesting one. A good guide to a healthy way of life, its tips help keep y... Read more
Review:The recipes are great but honestly I have no idea what I was thinking ordering a cook book for my kindle. That platform is just not suitable for cook books. How am I going to flip through this to find what I want to cook? No idea. Clearly didn't think this the whole way through.
If you are going to buy this, and the recipes are certainly worth it, buy the actual book. Read more
Review:This is a great book. There is information on many ingredients you dont see in most cookbooks and lots of good tips. You dont have to be a vegetarian to own this cookbook (I'm not). Everyone needs side dishes! Although there are many things in this book that would do just fine as a main course. Read more
Review:Out performs the regular version of the flavor bible by a long shot. Great for those of us who aren't vegetarians to spark some new ideas even includes some nutritional information, descriptions of what the foods actually are, and ideas on how best to use them. Just get this book, if you can live without the pairings with meats and fish (everyone already knows rosemary goes with lamb and bacon goes with scallops anyhow). Read more
Review:Love the recipes in this book! Have not found even a mediocre one yet and I've tried quite a few. So tasty, easy to prepare, but still adventurous! I also appreciate that the author lists specific wine pairings for each meal. Read more
