Vegetarian & Vegan
Review:Nice addition to my vegan cookbook collection. Of course, I have never tried a recipe that I don't tweak to my tastes. That being said of the four recipes I tried all were good & will probably be made again. Read more
Review:This is our most tattered and used cookbook in the house. First off, its flaws are tolerable. I find some of the recipes ask for too much pasta, but you can easily adjust stuff like that. I am also sometimes suspicious about the sugar in some of these recipes, especially after reading the China Study and Whole. I love that there are pictures for most of the recipes, however they are all zoomed in and I would prefer some of the pictures be taken farther back to give a better idea of what the dish... Review:I have mixed emotions about China Study Quick & Easy Cookbook. The photography is nice so you get an idea of what each dish is without having to read the recipe first, so deciding what you want to cook is easier. But two things frustrate me about the book:
...No nutrition information for the recipes, and
...Unclear cooking instructions.
I ordered the book because I read The China Study and other books based on that information, so I'm eating vegan for both humane reasons and for... Read more
Review:This book is everything you need, vegan or not! There is not one recipe I've come across by Lauren Toyota that has disappointed me. Every single thing in this book is incredibly delicious. My favorite recipe of hers is the mushroom alfredo. It's so creamy and delicious...a must try! Read more
Review:As a restaurant owner, I often get requests for vegetarian food. I have tried to make a number of the recipes in this cookbook and have been inspired to give vegetarian fare more presence. I found the food to be rich, and quite beautiful. It was much more sophisticated than I was expecting. Read more
Review:The recipes are incredible and thanks to Gaz's photography you'll learn a thing or two about presentation. You're guaranteed to find creative recipes that you'd never uncover with some google searching.
The only reason I gave this book 4 stars instead of 5 is because the US copy wasn't localized. Review:thank you for this wonderful book. i have just begun to learn to cook Indian food...and as I am to marry a man in India soon, this is perfect. Review:Bought for a wedding shower basket not realizing the whole inside would be using the work f***, a little too vulgar for my taste. Beware because you will be charged $5.99 for return shipping when the product is only $8.91 to begin with!! Read more
Review:As a new vegetarian and aspiring vegan, I read lots of cookbook reviews before deciding to purchase this one. I'm so glad I did! The pictures are beautiful, it's fun to read (Isa has a very accessible and likable personality), full of helpful advice and clear instructions, and perhaps most importantly the recipes are great! I've made 4 of them in the first week and a half of owning this book, and loved them all. There are many more that I'm dying to try! I have two kids--ages 5 and 7--and they... Read more
