LaRose: A Novel
LaRose: A Novel

Review:The story is very interesting from the perspective of Native American culture; dealing with loss and tragedy in a spiritual way between generations .
I thought there were too many characters that were presented in the story and had inadequate resolution of their part, like Emmaline and the Priest.
She always weaves very interesting stories from the elders.
Round House was a much better written book. Read more

Notes from the Underground (AmazonClassics Edition)
Notes from the Underground (AmazonClassics Edition)

Review:A fascinating view into a wretched little man's mind, albeit one that feels very real and alive. Perhaps many of us have bits of this wretchedness within us. I am lucky due to the circumstances of my development to not suffer envy, but I do recognise other unpleasant aspects of this man in me. For instance, the tendency to observe people and decide I'd really rather not interact with 99% of them, and then lament my own isolation and solitude. The underground man's tirade on irrationality, choice... Read more

Skin (Flesh Series Book 2)

Review:The author did a great job mixing romance and zombies. I enjoyed the back and forth between the main characters. Nick was a bit of an ass, but deep down all he wanted to do was protect Ros. Once Ros made her choice she was all in. Read more

Review:Gentleman Nine by Penelope Ward
4.5 stars!!!!

“My life had come full circle – with a few hiccups along the way.”

Penelope Ward is always a master story crafter and one thing that I always love about her books is her ability to surprise me and once again she did. This story had the ability to be predictable, but Penelope Ward wove her Ward magic and makes it anything but. Gentleman Nine is the perfect blend of humour, angst and swoon and the two main characters are both relatable... Read more

Bloodmagic (Blood Destiny Book 2)
Bloodmagic (Blood Destiny Book 2)

Review:I am pleasantly surprised with this series. Book one left me wanting to continue the series. I do feel the pace was a tad dragging in book two, however. We have all read horrible submissions in this genre, but this series does not fall into that category. Mind you this is not a Deborah Baroness book, but it will do. More than a just time filler until the next release of your favorite series. More like an author given time will be great. Read more
