The Little Voice: A rebellious novel
The Little Voice: A rebellious novel

Review:This was a great great book to read. I remember reading another book by Joss and that completely tore away my thinking about how the world is evolving and how close minded we are getting.

And this book was like that too. It tore my thinking down. And that's the best part about his books. The fact that it is written so simply, you think that the book is nothing much to write home about and that it will be light and meaningless, but it has such deep nuggets of wisdom inside.

Fawkes: A Novel
Fawkes: A Novel

Review:I've been waiting for this book for a long time. Let me tell you, it was worth the wait. This genre is very different from Nadine's debut novel, A Time to Die, but she did a brilliant job in this new genre. The Gunpowder plot is a real historical event, and about 75-80% of the characters were real people. The genre, as dubbed by the author herself, is historical fantasy. The reason for this is because the characters in the book have the ability to control color when they... Lab Rat One (Touchstone Book 2)
Lab Rat One (Touchstone Book 2)

Review:This series is fantastic! After I read the first one I was hooked, and had to drop everything else I was reading to finish the series. The premise is enticing and the imagination of the author is boundless. I highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys sci-fi/fantasy and a captivating, fun, thought-provoking read. Read more

Lirael (Old Kingdom Book 2)
Lirael (Old Kingdom Book 2)

Review:While wandering through the local bookstore four years ago I came across Sabriel in the Young Adult section. Noticing the cover I picked it up and read the first chapter. I was hooked. I must have read the copy I bought that day at least 40 times. I became such a fan of Mr. Nix's writing that I named my cat Mogget! But I digress, as I understood it Mr. Nix was supposed to only write a sequel. Lirael turned out to be the second book in a trilogy, the third to be the forthcoming, Abhorsen. Well, a... Read more

A Middle Falls Time Travel Story (Middle Falls Time Travel Series Book 1)
A Middle Falls Time Travel Story (Middle Falls Time Travel Series Book 1)

Review:Well, that was interesting, and certainly unusual. Was it a waste to read? Not really, there were some interesting parts, but many occurrences in the book aren't really explained, at least in this novel, a First in a Series. But where and how could it end? You got me, I'm stumped as you are in figuring where this unusual life will lead.

Meanwhile, it'll go back into my Library, filed away on some back electronic shelf, where someday it will call out to be read once more. For reading th... Read more

Ink and Bone (The Great Library Book 1)
Ink and Bone (The Great Library Book 1)

Review:Book: Ink and Bone
Author: Rachel Caine
Rating: 4 Out of 5 Stars

This is second series that I have read by Rachel Caine-the other being The Morganville Vampires. I must say that Rachel has improved over the years and that this is probably one of my favourite books by her that I have read. I just hope that she doesn't drag the series out like she did with Morganville.

My first thought whenever I started reading this was wait...Is this going to be some strange mash up of Harry ... Read more

A Tale of the Dwemhar (Half-Elf Chronicles Book 1)

Review:As an R.A. Salvatore fan, I was very interested to see what this book had in store for me. What I found was a story that was inticing and left me wanting more to see what happens to these characters. I think it is fair to say that JTWilliams is a fairly new author and that shows at points in the book, however I felt as if I could feel his aptitude advancing as the story went on and believe he has a lot of potential. I've been reading R.A. Salvatore since 1991 or so, and have very much enjoyed... Read more

Larken (Graceling Hall Book 1)
Larken (Graceling Hall Book 1)

Review:Although the plot was interesting, so many facts didn't add up. Why was Larken a destitute orphan when her parents were well to do. Someone should have been an advocate for her. Brandon was unbelievably rude and changes quickly. I guess the writing lacked depth. The author used a word that was not even a word until the 1960's in England. Found myself skimming as it was so predictable at the end. Read more

All the Crooked Saints
All the Crooked Saints

Review:(My rating is really 3.5 stars, this is the only time I’ve wanted half stars on Amazon!) I’ve loved everything I’ve read by Stiefvater, so I was really looking forward to this. The writing was magnificent, as usual, but I just didn’t feel very invested in the story until the last third of the book. Definitely worth a shot, but not quite my thing! Read more
