Review:The first book "Going Underground" was a fast-paced detective thriller. This second book just plodded along. Roper solved nothing using his fantastic brain. In book one, he was solving problems in almost every chapter. I was disappointed with this novel. Read more
Review:Chuck Palahniuk's latest offering takes the form of a diary kept by Misty Marie Kleinman. The text of this diary, while personal, is directed at her husband, Peter Wilmot. Peter is in a coma for having, apparently, tried to commit suicide. Misty is, and has been for some time, miserable. She lashes out at Peter in her diary and in the process tells her story of why she is writing this diary and brings her life up to date while telling a very interesting story.
Diary examines the life of M... Read more
Review:If you enjoyed the first book (the Blood Gospil) you will enjoy this continuation of the story. As always with James Rollins, riveting story telling that keeps you wanting more. I can't wait for the third book to be released.
Excellent story, I would recommend it. Read more
Review:Once more into the breach, dear friends, we find our supernatural team fighting on the defensive against onslaughts both personal and shared. Action dominates the story, but drama, humor, and love flesh it out nicely. If you’ve enjoyed the series so far, you’ll love this book. Can’t wait for the next one!

Review:I've read Dresden, wildcard wizard, black spark, etc. All great books, but Nate Silver series is my all time favorite! Page Turner doesn't really do justice to this series. Forget about sleep, you won't be able to put these books down. Oh, and they are "toe-t a h -lee" awesome, trust me - you'll get it ;) Read more
Review:"Dark Messiah" frustrated me, as a reader. My frustration is similar to the soul-cleaving agony of a chocoholic who gazes upon a box of 40 delicious appearing truffles with delight until (Gasp!) joy turns to horror, when no labels or descriptions are discovered. No labels means increased work for our chocolate eater, as well as the consumption of much of each piece in order to identify the truffle. Alas, if the candy box included a tiny "candy map"-the chocolate "consumer" would be freed from p... Read more
Review:Another gripping story with Tom Douglas and Becky Robinson! Lots of new characters and former ones to finish up other plot lines. Though this story certainly stands on its own. And as usual, Abbott includes so many twists and then ties the different plot lines together effortlessly. Now I wait for the next book... Read more
Review:I picked this book up because of the post-apocalyptic world and the interesting backdrop of Victorian versus Science Fiction. The main character, Clara, is likable and a strong female lead, which accounts for most of the reason I stuck with the story as long as I did.
The Pearl Savage does have some merit, providing a unique world with a workable plot. The main character certainly had potential, tolerating the abuse of her drunk mother in order to protect her people from the mistreatment ... Read more
Review:It is difficult for me to describe what causes something to be really scary to me. Not sickening, disgusting, or even shocking; but really scary. Parts of this book were really scary to me, in a way I do not remember for any other book. Scary in a way I might associate with so-called “Jungian archetypes”; which I suppose are images in everyone’s unconscious. The evil room with an even eviler room in back with a room even more malevolent in back of that.
Those were the portions of the book whi... Read more
Review:A brave endeavour by Reiss to delve into the psychological trauma of soldiers. Christine takes us behind the curtains of war into the realms of PTSD. It's not pretty at all. It's downright sinister and malignant.
Drs. Grayson Frazier and Caden St.John are army doctors. He's a heart surgeon while she's a psychiatrist. They both finish their service and settle in Manhattan. Enviabley sexy, handsome couple, so deeply in love, considerate of each other's feelings, life should be smoothly successf... Read more
