A Shifter Retelling of Cinderella (A BBW Shifter Fairy Tale Retelling Book 2)
A Shifter Retelling of Cinderella (A BBW Shifter Fairy Tale Retelling Book 2)

Review:I was bored with Cinder and Rex's relationship. They went through the right motions but the chemistry..it just wasn't there. In regards to business matters, Cinder came across extremely immature and it was difficult trying to not compare her to Rex. The story itself was okay-Cinder trying to save her business, wicked stepmother, fated mates, yada, yada.. but the main couple..disappointing. Read more

The Wreath (Penguin Classics) - Kristin Lavransdatter I
The Wreath (Penguin Classics) - Kristin Lavransdatter I

Review:This book is such a remarkable accomplishment in so many ways that I must give it the highest rating. However, I did not always find it engrossing and sometimes had to slog on. Although it is a translation, the language is still quite often beautifully wrought--particularly in descriptions of terrain and weather. The book also gave good insight into medieval Christianity as it affected ordinary lay people. It also gets into the mind of a female character of those times from childhood to old ... Read more

The Age of Fable (Courage Classics) (v. 1) - Bulfinch's Mythology
The Age of Fable (Courage Classics) (v. 1) - Bulfinch's Mythology

Review:Bulfinch's Mythology as long been one of my favorite collections of myth. However, this edition from Seven Treasures Publications (ISBN 978-1440426308) is AWFUL! It looks like it was formatted with Microsoft Word by someone who has no business with such tasks. The print is cramped and the page header and footer is barely set off of the page type. The Glossary was not professionally edited and pales in quality compared to the Avenal Edition of Bulfinch's Mythology.

Volume Four of the Rain Wilds Chronicles - Blood of Dragons
Volume Four of the Rain Wilds Chronicles - Blood of Dragons

Review:I have read everything Robin Hobbs has written, even as Meagan Lindholm. I liked this book, but I didn't love it. Perhaps my expectations for Robin saw too high. I felt like the story just ended. Perhaps she just got tired of this story, and wanted it to end. I still love her writing style, and will read whatever she publishes, I just felt this story kind of fizzled at the end. Read more

Winner Best Vampire/Shifter Novel of the Year (Knights of Black Swan Book 4)

Review:Every book in the Black Swan series is fantastic. If your looking for an author who can really write a good, solid story who has put just the right amount of everything you could want in a book, then these are the books for you. The only down side is I couldn't get anything done because I COULDN'T PUT EACH BOOK DOWN ! Keep writing Victoria. Just keep writing. I'm defiantly sold. I can hardly wait for the next book in this series. Read more

Reborn (Alpha's Claim Book 3)

Review:I bought this entire series because I feel for this series and it was my first time with this author , but was so very disappointed in the ending that I don’t think I will buy anymore of her books.. people don’t want you to string them along in the hopes that after 3,4,5 books the ending is such a let down that your angry because you feel duped. A Reverse Harem Dark Romance (Irdesi Empire Book 1)
A Reverse Harem Dark Romance (Irdesi Empire Book 1)

Review:I have never read anything from Addison Cain, but I will most definitely be reading the next book in the series, particularly because Sigil is also included there. This dark story set in the future is a race to find the last remaining female who is Sigil. The characters are well developed, the descriptions are graphic but the book is not a difficult read. Instead, the story requires the darkness and eroticism. It's not just eye candy.

I received an advance reader copy of this book in ... Read more

A Reverse Harem Dark Romance (Irdesi Empire Book 2)

Review:I couldn't put this book down. The second Irdesi Empire book pick up right where the last book left off. Addison has a talent for taking you into new worlds and getting you emotionally involved with all the characters, and this book takes you through all of them. I'm anxiously awaiting the next release. Bound by Duty (Bound Series Book 1)
Bound by Duty (Bound Series Book 1)

Review:Too many authors give the entire story to the reader, turning them into an objective observer as the main character struggles to find out what the reader already knows. Stormy chooses not to give it away - rather she draws the reader into the characters world and makes you work for the back story - masterfully putting you through the same range of emotions as Ame and thus allowing you to become much more invested in Ame's world! I truly enjoyed this book and cannot wait for the sequel! A warning... Read more
