Creative Haven Spring Scenes Coloring Book (Creative Haven Coloring Books)

Review:I love the Creative Haven coloring books and this one is full of different Spring themes and each page is full of many different items to color. I have noticed my green pencil supply is getting a little low, but that's okay, they are easily replaced. Read more

The Making and Breaking of Elite Gymnasts and Figure Skaters
The Making and Breaking of Elite Gymnasts and Figure Skaters

Review:This book exhibits a great behind the scenes of elite gymnastics and ice skating of issues such as eating disorders, training and competing through injuries, body image, pressure from parents and coaches, etc. This book is a great read if you are a fan of either sport although it depicts a bit of a negative and stereotypical picture for both sports, times have indeed changed and have become better with respect to coaching and caring for athletes. Low-Fat Recipes to Promote Weight Loss - and Help Prevent Diabetes
Low-Fat Recipes to Promote Weight Loss - and Help Prevent Diabetes

Review:This is a diet that isn't just a fad--the book talks about making real lifestyle changes. DASH stands for Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension. The program is based on studies conducted by some of the most respected medical research institutions in the country, including Johns Hopkins University and Duke University Medical Center. The DASH diet effectively lowers sodium, making hearts healthier and lowering high blood pressure, but also takes into consideration the amount of sodium the diet... Read more

The 90-Day Program to Stop and Reverse Heart Disease
The 90-Day Program to Stop and Reverse Heart Disease

Review:I am very health conscious, and was most disgusted with Dr. Chauncey’s recommendation to take vitamin supplements especially Vitamin C. Linus Pauling’s recommendation to take vitamin C supplements was disproven my medical research-something Pauling never investigated. Research proved Vitamin C supplements does not prevent cancer, but it actually causes cancer. Read Pandora’s Lab. I do agree that walking is a beneficial health activity, but eat a vegetarian diet to get your vitamins and minerals. Read more

Kill Him! The Pilgrimage of Psychotherapy Patients
Kill Him! The Pilgrimage of Psychotherapy Patients

Review:I read this book when it first came out in the 70s. I was impressed then and was impressed again when I read it this time. No complaints there.

This is a book written by a psychotherapist for psychotherapists and patients of psychotherapy. I am neither, but there are good thoughts and things of great worth to me between these covers.

The book itself, though newly printed and bound, was rather cheaply put-together. I am careful with my books, but several pages just fell out of this ... Read more

Codependent No More Workbook
Codependent No More Workbook

Review:I am so thrilled to have been introduced to Melody Beattie's books. She is amazing and this Codependent No More and the workbook are proving invaluable! My therapist and I are working it together and I really feel myself morphing into a happier and healthier person while letting go of the anger and resentment. I highly recommend for nearly anyone but most especially if you have lived with an alcoholic, addict of any kind including a rageaholic. A must read! Read more

When You Keep Wishing and Hoping He'll Change - Women Who Love Too Much
When You Keep Wishing and Hoping He'll Change - Women Who Love Too Much

Review:Book arrived quickly and was in condition as promised. In general, the book isn't really helpful to me, as I find it focuses on women who were raised by alcoholic parents and that is not my situation. However, there were points in it that I found insightful and gave me reason to think and consider. Read more
