Review:It goes deeper than any other codependency book I have read so far. For years I struggled to understand why I have such a codependency problem, as well as my siblings. We weren't physically abuse but with this book I was able to see how exactly I became codependent and everything that went into me becoming codependent. It created a clear picture of why I became who I am and what I can do now to heal and the truth just knowing the root cause and the core reasons was a huge big step into recovery.... Read more
Review:The book is easy to read and follow the thought process. It is a good book to keep a co-dependent on track. Talking about each one of the step gives a person more insight to how the steps apply to your life. Read more
Review:It's nice to read a self-help book from a writer who has been in the trenches. She describes co-dependency from the perspective of someone who's experienced it first hand, and her hard-won wisdom shines through. I read with a pen in hand and barely a page went by where I didn't underline a passage or scribble something in the margins. She describes the workings of the co-dependent mind very well. There were so many passages where I thought, "Wow, and I thought I was the only person who thought t... Read more
Review:INCREDIBLE! I have recommended this book to several friends already and everyone has loved it! It does an incredible job of explaining why we are attracted to the wrong people, but more importantly how to change that! Codependency is revealed in a whole new way! A must read! Read more
Review:I am amazed about the way I feel my soul connected with the author's words while I'm reading this incredible book. It's an indescribable feeling, almost as if the book was written for me. I am the result of emotionally immature parents, and it's been a real struggle for me. Issues such as individuation vs. enmeshment, flexible vs. loose boundaries, parental expectations and fantasies have been struggles I've had to deal throughout my whole life. Dr. Gibson explains these and other neuralgic conc... Read more
Review:Not at all what I was expecting or hoping for. Really don't waste your money on this book unless you just want a book to basically say "did you feel like this? Me too." Very disappointing, no help, no tips, nothing but a waste of time. Read more
Review:Well written, and easy to understand. This book was definitely helpful in my understanding of this emotional addiction. Having said that, it definitely caters to the more serious cases, and doesn't offer a lot of suggestion on more 'soft addicts' Read more
Review:My boyfriend thought it would be a good read for us since we clicked and carried on rather quickly in our budding relationship. It was a great read with a lot to think about! We're engaged now and I think this book has secrets on how to be successful partners in a relationship that everyone should learn. Read more
Review:It is good to see that Ms. Beattie has moved beyond discussing 'codependency'. Our hearts are always open...and we just need to recognize that fact...and it IS a journey....a path.....
This is a kind book. One to read out loud to others.... Read more
