Historical Fiction
Review:Not at all what I expected. Very contrived and found myself skipping over huge sections just to get the end. It's actually insulting to read about the subject matter trivialized. There are so many other books to read that have substance and treat the subject with the dignity it deserves. Read more
Review:The best part of this book, the way Stewart provided the backstory of Constance's accidental stumbling into position of deputy sheriff. Constance evolves and ferrets who she is in her self-discovering sojourn as we read of one inspiring woman tapping into her authentic self.
Constance, a maverick, fascinating, in short a remarkable woman. A woman refusing to fit into societal expectations, norms. Constance wanted to pursue a career, however, her mother disagreed with her desires, as well ... Read more
Review:I'm a big Amy Stewart fan so when she took the headlong plunge into fiction, I came right along for the ride! I don't read a lot of fiction, but I'm definitely ready for book #3 in this series. Girl Waits With Gun had such great characters and I love how the story line in this second book gave Stewart the opportunity to shine a much deserved light right on Constance Kopp. The story is a period piece, but written with contemporary sensibilities... and that really appeals to me. Furthermore, any b... Read more
Review:Amelia and the Discount by Samantha Holt
In this first book of the Bluestocking Brides Series we meet Amelia Chadwick and Nicholas Wentword. Amelia is the oldest of the Chadwick sisters, The “responsible” one. Samantha Holt shows us that sometimes things and people are not always as they seem. Amelia may be the responsible Chadwick sister but she also has a side she hides from everyone, even herself. The relationship between the Chadwick sisters is just heartwarming.
Amelia is considered... Read more
Review:This is the first book in a new series from the Sinful Brides Collection. You can start with it but I would recommend you to at least start with book one of the Sinful Brides to fully comprehend all the involved characters. Christi has the most amazing talent to connecting each of her series that she has written. In starting from the very first book she wrote, she has developed a lifetime of amazing and wonderful stories that you can not wait to start and where you dread for it to end. You beco... Read more
Review:I enjoyed this book so much that I finished in one sitting. None of the normal romance ridiculousness of each of the lovers lying to one another about their true feelings. They were honest and strait forward with one another the whole time. And the storyline was great. I laughed and cried and I was terrified all in the same book! I can't wait to read the next in the series! Read more
Review:I really enjoyed reading, "For the Love of a Duchess". It is a clean romance, which is such a wonderful find in this day and age. It is also well written with character development that grasps you from the first few pages. You feel what the heroine is feeling and care about the outcome. I was so invested, I had to stay up and finish the book. If you like historical romances you will love this book and this writer! Read more

Review:Unmasking Miss Appleby is my first book by Emily Larkin. Ms Larkin has impressed me with this fantastic story. This book had threads of drama, action, suspense, paranormal abilities, sizzle, humor and phenomenal, lovable characters weaved together. Think it can't be done? It can, and Ms Larkin not only did it, she did it well. I totally enjoyed this historical romance and look forward to reading more from Emily Larkin in the future. Unmasking Miss Appleby is book 1 of the Baleful Godmother... Read more
Review:Excellent reading. This is the first of Ridley's books that I have read and I do believe I'm hooked. Very well written and I even enjoyed the fact that the heroine is probably someone I would truly not like even remotely in real life. Highly recommend it! Read more
