52 Lessons You Should Have Learned in School. - Fucking History
52 Lessons You Should Have Learned in School. - Fucking History

Review:Look at the title of this book (really just a little booklet). Amazon rejected my first review because I used bad language (even though I didn't spell anything out, but used symbols for the vowels of variants of the word in the title and common earthy terms for excrement, women's breasts, etc.). Pretty hypocritical, I'd say. They can sell junk with "bad words," but I can't even allude to the words obliquely in a review.

The booklet is filled with so-called bad words, which really didn'... Read more

Why It's Never Too Late for Her Dumb Ass to Learn Why Froot Loops Are Not for Dinner

Review:Disappointed, like the others. Not as bad as "If you Were Here", but the recycled content really was irritating. I hope she's not past her prime, I continue to enjoy her blog, and re-read the first few books and still find them funny. Come back to us, Jen!!! Read more

Review:I read Justin Halpern's first book and enjoyed his writing style and of course the interactions with his dad. I wanted to see how he would follow that hilarious first book. Was not disappointed! Great little book to read during a beach vacation. Read more

A New Translation Based on the Restored Text (The Schocken Kafka Library)
A New Translation Based on the Restored Text (The Schocken Kafka Library)

Review:I don't deny that Kafka has a very out-of-the-box way of writing, but to be honest it didn't do it for me. While I wouldn't recommend it to someone looking for a light/fun read, if you're looking for something that will test your grip on reality, I'd take a gander. Definitely gets you talking. Read more

I Hate Everyone, Except You

Review:I don't know what I was expecting but this wasn't what I thought. It was well written and I did laugh a few times but I thought the stories should have been chronological. The author probably had a reason . I read the whole book so it kept my attention Read more

The Graphic Novel (Artemis Fowl Graphic Novel) - The Arctic Incident

Review:My reaction on Artemis Fowl
I give my book 5 stars. My book is about a boy named Artemis, he is 13 years old, and he is a total nutcase. Artemis has been trying to find his father ever since he was 9 years old. His father disappeared on a plane. So his mother says.
Artemis noticed that when he was looking through pitchers that his dad looks kind of like his teacher.
The characters in this story are K'ell Goblin he is a very mean person who doesn't like tourists, Mud people they are peo... Read more

Foxglove Summer (Rivers of London)

Review:The plot thickens ! Ben Aaronovitch continues to weave police procedural into intriguing urban fantasy with this book, though as the mysteries across the series continue to mount, I wonder when we'll see any actual denouement for any of the ongoing intrigues. Read more

Hunt the Moon (Cassie Palmer)
Hunt the Moon (Cassie Palmer)

Review:Spelltastic! Rapacious! Phenomenal! Cassie Palmer has opened a can of "whoopass" in Hunt the Moon. Karen Chance has created an urban fantasy junkie's dream! You can find it all in this gem, time travel, vampires, demons, fey, and mages to name a few. Cassie is beyond awesome, her ability to make you come back for more is endless. Hot and steamy vampire love with the sexy and dominate Mircea, are what dreams are made of. Pritkin sheds his duster and gives us a glimpse of the man underneath... Read more

Stories and Other Stories (Vintage Contemporaries)
Stories and Other Stories (Vintage Contemporaries)

Review:I bought this book on the recommendation of a friend, and because I am generally a fan of B.J. Novak (I love The Office and I find Novak's childrens' book hilarious). I was a little disappointed. I expected a lot more laugh-out-loud moments. Instead a got a few chuckles and mostly a lot of, for lack of a better word, weirdness. It's not a bad read, just kind of odd. The short-story format is nice for a busy schedule (I picked it up and read a story or two at a time when I could find a few m... Read more

The Fix (Carolina Connections Book 1)

Review:Laney Monroe has finally moved out her parent’s house at the age of 25. Only it wasn’t that simple you see because Laney’s life has turned out not at all like she planned. For instance she did not plan on getting pregnant so soon or being a single mom. She also did not plan on working for a job that she finds boring or allowing her brother Gavin to move in with her. Laney buys a cute little house that she fell in love with but it has several things that need fixed. She figures that since her bro... Read more
