Murder with Peacocks (Meg Langslow Mysteries)
Murder with Peacocks (Meg Langslow Mysteries)

Review:Why did the mother and father divorce in the first place?
Is she really so dim that she can't see the Michael forest for the trees?
Guessed the ending about 1/4 of the way through.
I liked the peacocks. Read more

Die Humorous Mystery Book 1) - Die (An Eat
Die Humorous Mystery Book 1) - Die (An Eat

Review:Interesting story. Easily entreated. Quick read with good plot and main character. Humor isn't forced or overdone. Self-contained, with no need to read more in the series, but wouldn't object to returning to the next ones. Read more

In Search of a Love Story (Love Story Book One )
In Search of a Love Story (Love Story Book One )

Review:I was on vacation and really just wanted a decently done piece of chick lit. The book delivered-yes you could probably guess where the story was going but Schurig kept it entertaining. Liked it so much I got the other two books in the "Love Story" trilogy. Read more

The Blue-Ribbon Jalapeño Society Jubilee
The Blue-Ribbon Jalapeño Society Jubilee

Review:Welcome to the ruthless and competitive world of food competitions. To most people, Cadillac, Texas, population of 1524 people, is a pleasant and nurturing place to live. Become a member of the Blue Ribbon Jalapeno Society and it becomes a cut-throat, back stabbing battle ground. Growing the hottest jalapenos and creating food products from them was the founding principle of this decades old club. The competition with the group and between the neighbouring town is quite fierce.

Succubus Heat (Georgina Kincaid)
Succubus Heat (Georgina Kincaid)

Review:Therapy works unless you sleep with the therapist and suck out their life force! Jerome has forced Georgina into therapy, she is being horrifically sulky and he has had enough of her.

When that fails he sends her to Canada, to spy for another Arch Demon who is having problems with a demonic cult that are giving Satan a bad name!

Succubus Blues (Georgina Kincaid Book 1)
Succubus Blues (Georgina Kincaid Book 1)

Review:I have thought about ordering this book several times but couldn't get past the title. I finally decided to try the first 2 books and I really enjoyed them! I've read the vampire academy series and it definitely felt like the same style/voice, only with much more adult content. I love the way all of the characters are connected and that there's a little mystery in each book.

I think some of Georgina's behavior is a little immature or makes her seem younger than centuries old, but that ... Read more

Succubus Dreams (Georgina Kincaid Book 3)

Review:Great series, but should be read only by adults. Love it so much I ordered it for 2 day shipping, the only problem that the company held the package and instead of getting it Thursday like I should have I had to pick it up on Wednesday. Read more

How to Build a Girl: A Novel (P.S. (Paperback))
How to Build a Girl: A Novel (P.S. (Paperback))

Review:Like all Caitlin Moran books, this was fantastic. I laughed and cried along the way and now I have an all-time favorite quote that came from this book, "My hormones were rioting like a zoo on fire."

If you loved How to Be a Woman, you'll love How to Build a Girl. Read more

B Is for Beer
B Is for Beer

Review:I had high expectations going into Tom Robbins's new book, B is for Beer. How high? Something to the effect of Terence McKenna hanging out with Jimi Hendrix and Janis Joplin on a humid Haight-Ashbury Saturday, with Jack Kerouac stopping by for the after party. That high. The author of eight novels and a collection of shorter works, Robbins is well known for his fluid, complex metaphors that invoke many a psychedelic image in a reader's mind. I thought that with a drug, albeit a tame one, right i... Read more

Ain't She Sweet?
Ain't She Sweet?

Review:Any book that starts off each chapter with one liners from my favorite Georgette Heyer's regencies will dispell my misgivings at the offset. Let me not pretend to be too highbrow -I loved this book.
Not a careful purchase, but stacked onto my library pile as a last minute addition with that sangfroid of knowing if it was a bore it would just go back next trip, no pressure... and I was predisposed to dislike it, on account of "bitchy" heroine blurb on back cover.

Summation: Improbably ... Read more
