Review:Just as I was lamenting my completion of the final Douglas Adams book (see other review) along comes my annual literary fix of Tim Dorsey.
"Triggergfish Twist" kept me laughing, chortling, guffawing, and well... generally tittering like a whackaloon.
This H-I-L-A-R-I-O-U-S novel has everything: a mime, Tom Jones music, The Beam of Death, Trivial Pursuit, Ernie and Bert the homeless Christ and Antichrist, a well placed fade-out, a Crisco based life form, Velveeta, chicken salad sandwiches,... Read more
Review:I have read every Tim Doresy novel since I stumbled upon "Florida Roadkill" back in 2000. This may be my favorite one! Yes, the plot got a bit hard to follow, but it was fun anyway and played so well into the political BS we deal with daily. It was funny that I was in FL on vacation when I was reading it and actually in Miami International during that section of the book. I look forward to continuation of ths series as long as Tom can find some creative situations for good ole Serge and Cole... Read more
Review:Enjoyable and engaging- the premise is both fun and refreshing, galloping after a couple of brothers and their precarious relationship as opposed to heroes and damsels and romances. I enjoyed taking in the trek through their eyes, different as they are. What bothered me was the ending. At first the brothers serve as good foils, both being murderers, but one being more sentimental. By the end, they've both given and taken and nearly ended up the same person, which is to say, the one loses appeti... Read more
Review:Clever, funny, very entertaining and even educational in places. I somewhat randomly add books to my Kindle when I come across them and it can be months or even years before I get to them, having completely forgotten what they're about. It's always an unexpected pleasure when one turns out to be this good! Read more

Review:I love the entire Knitting In The City series. All of the books are fantastic, but this book, Dan and Kat's story is my favorite. If you can find it, Scenes From the Hallway is a must read before this, it fills in some of the time between their first meeting and this book. As usual, Penny Reid did a great job and gave me ALL the feels with this book. I'm sad the series came to end. Definitely worth the time to read all the books. Read more

Review:Sinclair Lewis and Thomas Hart Benton, the artist, were about the same age, they both focussed on the American Heartland, and as I read Lewis, I see that they both had something else in common. They both had a tendency to draw cartoonish characters. George F. Babbitt is the main character of a satire by the same name; you might even laugh aloud in some places. Lewis is skillful, but at times, heavy-handed. He has portrayed an average Joe of 1920, the pep- and vim-obsessed go-getting business... Read more
