It is a good book, with many useful information. It contains also a very nice map of mahattan. The only problem for me is that it doesn't contain to many pictures. And it really would be useful if you could see how the described attractions looks. Among thousands of tall buildings sometimes it is not easy to say what you are looking at.

Unlike so many other guides I have bought, this one had a real point of view, which made planning my trip so much easier. And now that I’m back, I can say definitively, the author was right. With her help, I avoided Times Square except for going to the theater, which made sense since that’s all there is there, that’s worth seeing. She took me to other parts of midtown, plus uptown and downtown for the other great attractions of the city. Her descriptions of how to get around were spot on, and much to my surprise I found myself loving the subway. It’s so easy and efficient to use (who knew! And I’m NOT a city person). I loved her advice on how to find great Broadway shows (get them in advance on the web, with info on how to tell which shows are worth seeing and so many of those were discounted!). And her enthusiasm for her city was contagious. Plus she took me to GREAT restaurants that tourists rarely get to. Really, my trip wouldn’t have been nearly as good without this guidebook. A real find!

Great book, but it arrived seriously damaged. I paid for a brand new, clean copy, but got one with a badly bent back cover, with back pages crumpled and dog-eared. This was a gift for a friend from out of town, but I can't really give it away in this condition. The pages are dirty on the edges, theh paper is not crisp, and the book appears used. Not cool.
