Thrillers
Review:This book could have arrived as "brand new" and I would never have known if it were used or not. It was in perfect shape, exactly as the description said it was. It was a great read, and the book still looks like it's brand new. Read more
Review:Fraking love this adventure. Throws every legend, myth and story about the big guy into a chaotic masterful most logical of all the legends., A thoroughly enjoyable sleigh ride indeed..!!!! Loved every minute. mostly. Read more
Review:Just finished The St. Paul Conspiracy and have to say it was an excellent, very well written suspense/thriller book. The characters were witty and the story line was fast paced. I read the book in a few days, and want to see Mac McRyan back in another book. For me, this author falls into the same arena as Henning Mankell (the Kurt Wallander series). I would buy another Detective McRyan book in a heartbeat. I could see this book made into a movie! Read more
Review:Upton Sinclair at his best. The story of an accidental "secret agent" and the traps he falls into. The innocent victims this poor man takes with him is another example of the tyranny of the Fascist regimes Sinclair despises. It is an excellent example of this man's skills, never failing to keep the reader guessing as to where the grim tale will lead. If you like Sinclair with "The Jungle" and "King Coal", you will enjoy this one, too. Read more
Review:Mayhem and destruction are a way of life for Lorenzo ‘Scar’ Gambini. While most people avoid the shadows, it’s here that Lorenzo thrives. A modern day bogeyman, his notoriety is legendary, as is his thirst for inducing fear from others. Bored by uninspiring adversaries, his interest is piqued by the most unlikely of sources.
Morgan Myers knows fear. She faces it every day as the alternative is not one she is willing to accept. Her life is an endless rotation of disappointment and dead end... Read more
Review:Too fast to really enjoy the relationship between Gia and Dante. You get nothing out of the characters as far as who they really are and why they'll be good for each other. The author tried to explain why Terry was in trouble but left out just why Dante was protecting him, what the mother had to do with it and just how Gia's siblings turned their back without a care in the world.
I mean after the house situation you'd think her siblings would at the very least call her and make sure she's... Read more
Review:Absolutely loved this read and had difficulty putting it down. Believable, evolving characters and a plot that forms at a steadily exciting pace that keeps you from predicting too far ahead. This was slightly reminiscent of Ender's Game in the best way. A great nod to the "idea" that humanity preys on itself in attempts for self-preservation. Hard to believe this was classified as YA. Well done, Bertauski. Hat off to you! Read more
Review:This book? Mind-blowing. Crazy. Shocking. And just plain WRONG. I freaking loved every second of it. What would you do if you were traded to someone in order to secure payment for a bet? I LOVED Tor and her will to live and to fight. And Lord help me, but I loved Jude and all of his messed up hotness. Just read it!! Read more
Review:This was another winner from TL Smith. She really never disappoints. The H is obsessed with the h, which I love. I favor really, really dark books and the H was a little too much of an open book to satisfy my craving for a really dark anti-hero H. But the level of suspense and intrigue in the book fulfilled another craving, and his utter sweetness and the lengths he would go to to protect the h was absolutely fulfilling. The h was very much a mystery at first, and I wasn't sure how I felt about ... Read more
Review:I just read the book, enjoyed just like the others but when it was getting fun it ended... I want more!!!
Jokes aside, I guess I forgot this was the first of a new series so, as with all first books, a lot of story time is taken introducing the characters and the plot itself. Also, as I sign Nicks newletter, I had the expectation it would be action from beging to end (that is what you said Nick!) but the action, or to be more acurate, the plot realy started at the end. So when I though, "Grea... Read more
