Historical Romance
Review:How to review this book?? Honestly, I'm torn. I do not like giving this a negative review. I've read Johanna Lindsey all my life. I have every one of her books. Did I love them all? No, but there are a few that I would want with me if I were ever stranded on a island.
Reading this made me a little nostalgic; I wanted to rush to my bookshelf and pull down one of my favorites. Ironically enough another story about a Peacekeeper that finds his heroine by paying back a favor. (If you ... Read more
Review:Whilst attending her younger sisters wedding , Susan meets Daniel . He’s the brother of her best friend who she hasn’t seen for some years , but he’s not the boy she remembers, now he’s a good looking well built Captain in the navy .
At the same wedding she’s also reintroduced to John the Duke Of Lennox, he’s the older brother of the man who left her standing at the altar 5 years earlier.
Where to go from here ?

Review:I almost never write reviews because I usually forget what title goes with what story. However, this book was SO incredibly bad I won't forget it quickly enough. Kept hoping it would get better and now I wish I had those hours of my life back. When I fell asleep mid-read I should have just deleted it off my tablet instead of continuing. I have no idea what time period this was supposed to be - at one point they talk about a gown that only goes to her knees and the stockings would hide the re... Read more
Review:"Quickly, he removed his coat and draped it over her, hoping some of the warmth from his body would seep into hers. Working his arms beneath her, he struggled to stand with the mud sucking at her, seeking to reclaim her, to hold her captive. He'd not have it. He'd rescued a good many trinkets from the banks of the Thames, but he'd never rescued a woman. He wasn't about to let her die now that he had recovered her." --Drake Darling
I loved the prologue of this book. It was very different a... Read more
Review:A turn-about on the heroine being transported back in time to the days of chivalry. We have a displaced warrior from the 17th century well before Culloden transported to modern Scotland, an American heiress to a Scottish castle, and assorted friends embarking on an adventure which could span several books. Altogether delightful! Read more
Review:The book left me with more questions than answers. It was an okay read, there was no passion or chemistry within all the characters. This book fell a little flat for me. A pity because this book had so much potential. Read more
Review:I continued reading hoping that the plot would take off and there would be unexpected twists. Dominic was a cardboard hero and one who the author described as having a "feral" gleam to his eyes way too many times. Usually the author's heroes are strong and intelligent characters. Dominic was lacking. Brooke was a tad more interesting but not much. There was no chemistry between them and I really didn't care if they stayed together or not. Read more
Review:I have been a Johanna Lindsey fan for along time. I have all of her books and have read most of them many times. I was very disappointed with The Joining. Most of her books I can't stop reading until I get to the end. This one I didn't even want to finish. It was very dull. The characters were childish. They didn't even like each other until the end of the book. Not very believeable. Wulfrick was almost a good character but not Milisant. She was a shrew. As I was reading it, I thought many... Review:While the book started out well enough, it quickly went downhill when Margaret entered the picture. Sebastian Townshend, aka The Raven, promised to be an exciting character, the disgraced, disowned son of an earl who is now a ruthless mercenary. People hire him when all else fails. Enter Margaret, who wants to hire The Raven to look for Sebastian Townshend and discovers they're one in the same. Though he refuses to work for women, she manages to cow him into working for him and the story begi... Read more
Review:Unlike the other reviews, I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I did go back and re-read the previous two books in which they were mentioned and then I followed with this new one. I think that made me connect with both characters right away. I loved the way they came together in understanding and love and of course passion. The passion that Johanna Lindsey always shows in the characters she creates is amazing and the tention is there throughout the book. I suggest you read the previous two books... Read more
