The Diet That Lets You Eat All You Want (Half the Time) and Keep the Weight Off
The Diet That Lets You Eat All You Want (Half the Time) and Keep the Weight Off

Review:Just finished reading the book. I have started using the EOD, and I'm excited about it. May be, this time I will be successful - lose and not gain the weight back. It seems something that is totally doable: One day feast and next day modified fast. The only comment I would have is that the recommendations for the fast day is primarily frozen meals. I think this is the easiest way to get started and be successful. However, I think for long-term good health, you must move away from so many process... Read more

Thoughts on Overtraining and Recovery in Strength Training
Thoughts on Overtraining and Recovery in Strength Training

Review:I recently finished this book by "skinny science geek", powerlifter/strongman, philospher, and author Matt Perryman. I will share my verdict at the end.

Every so often, an individual comes along to challenge a fundamental belief. This belief that Perryman's book discusses is the bedrock of the modern fitness industry: Work hard in the gym and go "recover" well, lest you spoil all your "gainz" and get injured.

Exercise is fantastic because it makes the body create it's very own "hea... Read more

4 Inches--and Your Wrinkles!--in Just 21 Days - Lose Up to 15 Pounds
4 Inches--and Your Wrinkles!--in Just 21 Days - Lose Up to 15 Pounds

Review:Just completed the 21 days and have lost 17 lbs. WOW! It was the easiest 17lbs I've ever lost. I am staying on this plan until I get to my desired weight, but may take a day or two off for special occasions. I does require a day or two of cooking on weekends to get the bone broth you need, but if you use a slow cooker, it's pretty simple and you can leave it to cook and not worry. Just strain and cool at the end. The broth you end up with is soul warming! I am not sure how this will feel ... Read more

Yoga Anatomy
Yoga Anatomy

Review:Beautiful illustrations, detailed and easy to understand. It is a book, for the average practitioner, to have around and look into from time to time in order to gain more insight on the muscles each pose directly affects. There is just so much depth to yoga poses than what we might simply guess. I think this a very interesting book. Read more

How to Effortlessly Start Conversations and Flirt Like a Pro
How to Effortlessly Start Conversations and Flirt Like a Pro

Review:Most examples the author gibes are a little bit odd and not quite realistic. I'm a huge fan of realistic real life conversations that actually happened, so in that regard I think this book could be improved with more extensive conversations that show how the author applied some of those tips.

The other reason why I rated it at 2 stars is because the DOMINANCE part. The whole part of how to convey dominance was completely off to me. When I read the examples of the successful fitness blog o... Read more

The Concise Seduction (The Robert Greene Collection)
The Concise Seduction (The Robert Greene Collection)

Review:Bought this book twice, threw it away, twice. I genuinely gave it a chance, but found that it's evil...and starts the reader on a journey that attempts to justify intentional hurt and manipulation of women. It teaches the essentials of being a sociopath. I tried to view the material from all angles. The truth is that if you try to view it from a different angle, philosophically or otherwise, you are kidding yourself. This book is pure manipulation and while employing the strategies could very we... Read more

How a Young Felon and His Ring of Doctors Unleashed America’s Deadliest Drug Epidemic
How a Young Felon and His Ring of Doctors Unleashed America’s Deadliest Drug Epidemic

Review:I started reading American Pain because I saw the episode about pain clinics on "American Greed".
I enjoyed this book because it didn't glamorize pain clinics/ opioids .It made the story raw & real but I didn't like the way the author described Appalachian people capitalizing on their heartache and grief .It was uncalled for....
I've lost friends, good people ( at one time) to drug mixtures that literally cost them their lives so in certain parts of the book the author seemed a little F... Read more
