Review:As with its predecessors, Season of Mists is intellectual, tinged with wry humor, old myths long forgotten, and even philosophy (though expertly hidden).
It opens with Destiny and a beautiful description of his realm. He soon after calls a 'family meeting', the first one they'd had in quite some time. This triggers a chain of events (one event in particular) that, more or less, make up the whole novel.
This novel challenges common belief about heaven, hell, death, souls and everything in b... Read more

Review:Written in the "olden days" of the Internet (i.e. late 1990s), Randy Komisar's "The Monk and the Riddle" is a classic with a timeless message: there's a fundamental difference between passion and drive. The latter is what propels type A personalities to succeed at anything they undertake. The former is more visceral and personal; it is something that you genuinely love and would be happy "to do for the rest of your life."
Komisar, my good friend and mentor (full disclosure), conveys his... Read more
Review:I just finished reading Jeffrey Pfeffer's POWER and tomorrow it will become required reading for all my MBA students. Pfeffer has spent his career researching and writing about power and this is his best work yet. You don't have to be an academic to understand, appreciate and use what Pfeffer has learned about power, but, if you are an academic, you will appreciate how he has backed up all his advice with good data. Anyone planning a career in management needs to understand power--how to get ... Read more

Review:Just think that sections for individuals and groups need to be segregated more definitively. Let readers go into group-related content when they want to, instead of making them go through tons of redundant content just to find a couple of relevant paragraphs. Read more
Review:This "book" is mainly a collection of quotes most of which are not original and/or are derivate work from known quotes.
The selection of quotes is not even good. There are many more quotes on achievement or success that are more powerful.
Also, some of the quotes underline a whining attitude and resentment versus bosses and leaders.
Leaders of corporations are there to CREATE VALUE and deliver results for the shareholders that employ them and in doing so they employ (and remunerate) pe... Read more
