I bought the Kindle version and there frankly wasn't much of a story. The pictures were good, but I got nothing about either Mr. Savage or Teddy. Perhaps it was a bad digital copy, but I was disappointed.

I thought this might be more like Steinbeck's book, since Savage mentioned it was on his radio show. Steinbeck he's not. The pictures are beautiful, but the book is way too short. I was looking forward to reading it over the week, but I finished it in an hour. Disappointing.

There is something unique and undefinable about Queens people. If you read this book, you will hear the echoes of that time and space in humanity with the magical touches only Savage can deliver.

As an author, a raconteur, a scientist, a genius, a deeply flawed human, a radio host, only Savage connects with the exact same spot with millions of people.

You just want to have lunch with Savage.

Desperately.

I could not get into Michael Savage other books because they are too heavy in bashing Obama

But Teddy , is a love story that is just amazing. I am dog owner and can relate.
This book is for the thinking people . I wish I could have short meeting with the two , TEDDY AND MICHAEL. ?
The sampler is the whole book :((((
Feel like I paid for pictures . Savage is capitalist I

Sometimes you just need cotton candy for the brain. Sometimes you just need something light and fluffy (Teddy). Sometimes you just need a big picture book with bite-size pieces of text. This is all three....brightened my afternoon considerably.
P.S. There is one sobering reminder that the good 'ol days weren't universally so.

Like the healine says. This is a deligthful book filled with heart warming picutres that even make a hard faced guy like me smile. I been a Savage fan since the age of 12. I've been listening for 10 years now and have every single one of his books. But this book is something special. Its a book to cherish. It shows that there is some humanity left in a world that seems to be going in the other direction. While i cant really explain my total feelings on this book. It did however leave me with hope and love in my heart and Savage achived that by his beautifully written littles stories about his love for Teddy and all his little dogs in the past. This is a book to pass down to your children or anyone who loves dogs or wants to see there is hope left in humanity!

Michael Savage's latest book is an excellent read. The relationship that he descries between Teddy and himself is one that any dog owner has experienced. Also the relationship that he had with his family and other dogs that he owned is an insight to the true nature of Michael Savage and why he does what he does. The chapter about his brother, Jerome, shows his heart and spirit. I recommend this book to all, no matter one's politics or opinions about Michael Savage. This is a book I will read again.

I have never listened to Michael Savage before so I didn’t know much about the guy. I still feel like I don’t know much about him and I don’t really want to.

I picked up this book because I am a dog lover and was hoping to hear poignant tales about a man’s love for his dog. There was a bit of that. There were LOTS of pictures. It probably took me an hour to read this book because of the amount of pictures.

Michael told a few stories about Teddy and all the other dogs he has had. He also told lots of other stories and talked a bit about religion and politics. It was not the book I thought I was getting and I was disappointed. I did not enjoy the book very much. I would not read it again. If you are a dog lover picking the book up because you love dogs there are many other books out there that are better picks.

I would say this book is almost exclusively for those who like Michael Savage. If you are like me and have never heard of him just skip it.

A cynical vehicle for banal, right-wing propaganda and an utterly un-Christian outlook on life. The first anecdote, written at about the level of a 10 year old, manages to squeeze in homophobia as well as racism in one fell swoop. I don't doubt the author's love of dogs (or in fact the other reviewers here) but what they all seem to have missed is dogs amazing capacity to accept human beings without judgement based on colour, creed, gender or sexual orientation. They simply see someone who is either good, bad or neutral.
It is true that the relationship between Islam and dogs is open to interpretation (as per all religions), but it is certainly not accurate to say that Muslims hate dogs. The story of the taxi driver has been widely publicised but it just sounds to me like that he wasn't a nice person rather than any religious factor and I would point out the same thing recently happened in a mainstream UK supermarket. A quick scan of YouTube will show you there are plenty of non-Muslim Americans (and Europeans etc) who neglect dogs.
Next time you see someone that people like Savage are suggesting you should automatically dislike or distrust, try to think more like a dog and decide for yourself whether or not there is actually anything wrong
