A Jesse McDermitt Novel (Caribbean Adventure Series Book 3)
A Jesse McDermitt Novel (Caribbean Adventure Series Book 3)

Review:It started off nicely enough...some pace but then totally bogged down mid-book. Relationships, people talking, blah, blah, blah. Where did the plot disappear to? Oh look, it's back....not that it was that good. Another observation: here's a guy who just lost his new wife only 4 months ago but there's no grief, mourning, self-loathing...nothing. He just get back on board with a new flame and off he goes. The previous book had one of the lousiest ending I've ever read. This book started off well... Read more

A Jesse McDermitt Novel (Caribbean Adventure Series Book 7)

Review:Another very enjoyable book in the Jesse McDermitt series by Wayne Stinnett. Being former military and living in the Keys, I am drawn into the action that is happening right down the road from me. To me this is a ramped up version of the Travis McGee series by John McDonald from the seventies.
Jesse and crew reside on a rough outcrop of an island in the back country of the Florida Keys. The island like Jesse is sparse and basic but very functional. This action packed novel travels up and down... Read more

A Jesse McDermitt Novel (Caribbean Adventure Series Book 8)

Review:Very light entertainment that looks as if a larger book was split in 2 or 3 parts and publish separatedly to make a series . As a teenager probably I would have been more interested than now in this 17 year old hero , some nice pirats and actions in the Everglades and the Florida keys, but unhappily this was a long time ago . It may look better as a TV series with the wonderful Florida keys as the background. I live very close and the geography is correct. Read more

A Jesse McDermitt Novel (Caribbean Adventure Series Book 6)

Review:I thought this book and the others are a great read. These books are in a series, and they are tied together. I would recommend this book and the others to anyone who likes ex military characters. I like the characters, the setting, and the story lines. although it does tend to get a little draggy at times, it is still a exciting book. I lived in FL in the 60's and have been to Key West so I know where the places mentioned in the story are. I really love this book. Jesse McDermitt at times rem... Read more

Review:I am an educated individual and have pursued esoteric works for years. I do not know why this was published. If it makes sense to you, I suggest you stop taking LSD or check into the closest mental health facility for treatment. A total waste of paper and my money. Read more

Chameleon in a Candy Store (The Oxygen Thief Diaries)

Review:I absolutely enjoyed this book as well as the last! Although it is short, every page is so fulfilling as if i am able to live through his “don’t give a s***” perspective. His books are so real and the feelings are incredibly relatable. It’s dark, sexual, and very addictive. I would definitely recommend these books (and I have) to many more people. I cannot wait for the third installment! Read more

Pillow Thoughts

Review:I got an ARC in return for an honest review on NetGalley.

I am going to admit something that should make me ashamed: I picked this book solely off the cover. I do it so often that my friends are just used to me picking up books as we walk by displays in the library and leaving before we even make it back to the stacks. How could I pass up on this cover? I love it and it looks exactly like something that would drag me in. Why would a jellyfish have pillow thoughts? I was immediately drawn ... Read more

Whiskey Words & a Shovel II
Whiskey Words & a Shovel II

Review:I love this book . Its shares true feelings that we go through from a day to day basis and it's fun to read because it's all quotes. I'm personally not a fan of reading books but this is perfect for me because I can relate to the quotes in the book and there is no long chapters which is a plus for me. I recommend this to someone who has been through ups and downs with relationships so I prove this book Read more

I hope this reaches her in time
I hope this reaches her in time

Review:I did not find this read soulful. I thought this collection of poems felt rushed and generic. What a waste of an amazing title. "I hope this reaches her in time" does not live up to it's lofty headliner. Within the first five pages there are printing errors from not enough ink. Not that the poems themselves have much substance. Everything written feels like it was taken straight off a Facebook post. I really wish I would have done more research on this author but the reviews made me jump the gun... Read more
